Ever since you'd met Jasper, he'd taken a great comfort in the fact that you were different, that you weren't exactly like him, but you understood enough to not judge him.

The Cullen's weren't the best please when the two of you announced that you were having your own home in the woods, granted not far from them but they found it strange – no matter how many times you reassured them or thought you'd won them over, they still seemed wary of you.

The vampire side of you they understood that side of you they could figure out the intentions or help you with it but the other side of you, the side that gave you your magic, well they weren't so sure about that.

Granted you knew that being a hybrid of a witch and a vampire wasn't the most common thing ever, but you didn't want to be feared by people, least of all the family of the man you loved.

Jasper meant a great deal to you, and you were sure you meant a great deal to him, but his family had never been outwardly supportive.

You were contemplating such things that morning, on your decking that Emmett and Jasper had built.

Jasper had noticed that you weren't in bed with him as long as you usually were, he'd initially assumed you'd gone for a walk or a hunt but when you hadn't come back, he decided to look for you.

It didn't take him long to find you but when he did, he was worried over the emotions he could feel from you.

"Darlin'?" he called out as he approached you, sitting down next to you when he could.

You didn't turn to him when he sat down, you just continued to stare out into the distance, and he could see the leaves that you were making move.

He sighed, placing his hand on your shoulder. "Darlin' talk to me."

The leaves dropped and you snapped out of it, turning to Jasper. "I'm sorry."

He shook his head as he pulled you into his side. "Just tell me what's wrong."

"I was just thinking," you admitted but at the look on his face you sighed and explained further. "It just upsets me sometimes Jas, the fact that your family are so accepting of Bella and the fact that she's human, but they can't accept me?"

Jasper sighed, the emotions he had felt making much more sense. "I hadn't realised this still upset you, I'm sorry."

You shook your head. "It's not your fault Jas," you told him earnestly. "It really isn't, I just think about it sometimes and I can't come up with any answer."

"There probably isn't one," he sighed again as he spoke. "I know that Esme and Alice love you, Alice wouldn't have helped decorate so much otherwise," he reassured you. "Emmett always talks about you, wants you to show him magic all the time," you laughed as he wasn't wrong. "Rose can be such a bitch, Edward has tunnel vision and Carlisle, well Carlisle is always wary of people."

You nodded as you took everything in, his words did reassure you but at the same time the whole situation was just irritating.

"They will realise eventually Darlin'," Jasper stated as he rubbed your shoulder comfortingly. "They'd be stupid not to."
