Edward Cullen- Choices: Part 2 (h)

As you were coming to the realisation, Edward was also coming to the same realisation due to him being able to see what you were thinking but also, he felt it too.

He had thought that with Bella he had felt the same things – he was unable to see into her mind and she made him feel but it was now that he was realising it was simply not to be.

You smiled at Edward as he still held your hand. "This is what I think it is, isn't it?" you questioned.

Edward returned your smile. "I believe it is."

The two of you were finding it very hard to look away from each other but a throat clearing eventually snapped you both out of that.

"What the hell is going on here?" the human girl questioned, looking less than pleased.

Edward sighed and turned around, running a hand through his hair.

"Bella, I need to apologise," Edward started but then Alice interrupted him. "So, do I," she spoke up which caused you to be utterly confused at the scene in front of you.

The human girl, who you now assumed was Bella, turned to Alice with an expectant look on her face.

"I thought you were Edward's mate," she stated making you feel quite uncomfortable. "When you were able to block his gift, it made sense, but I was wrong."

Bella scoffed as she crossed her arms but then her eyes turned to you.

"And who exactly are you?" she questioned but her tone made Edward come to stand by you in a protective stance.

You sighed even though you knew you weren't to blame for anything. "I have only just arrived; I didn't know this coven until today – I apologise for how this has made you feel."

Edward shot you a small smile and he went to speak to Bella again, but Alice had already grabbed her arm to steer her out of the room.

It was then that the rest of Edward's family took the cue and left as well; Edward gently placed his hand at the small of your back and led you to sit down on the sofa.

"This is not what I was expecting of my day today," he commented.

You laughed at his words. "I take it that that Bella girl was your girlfriend?"

He smiled somewhat sheepishly but nodded, nonetheless. "We all believed that she was my mate, as Alice said earlier it all made sense."

"And then I appeared?"

Chuckling, he reached for your hand. "And then you appeared."
