~~~~~~Sara's POV~~~~~~~
"We meet again." Althazar's warm voice greeted me as I walked towards him.
"Still getting into trouble, I see."
He was sitting on the edge of a medical bed, his violet eyes smiling wildly as they fell upon me.
It was impossible to contain the blazing smile that spread across my face. Seeing him was euphoric.
He slid off the bed and hugged me like an old friend. "I've missed you, darling." He whispered.
I bit my lip.
"Althazar, something's wrong with Earth." I stated. "At first, I thought it was just our island. But I was looking down through the windows of the pod - and the shapes on the continents are different."
"It's possible I made a mistake in judgment." he said, considering, "Maybe your planet is closer to doomsday than we thought."
"But how? Why?" I asked.
"I could run some diagnostics if you'd like." He said.
I nodded.
"I'll see to it right away." He stated, moving towards the exit. "In the meantime, make yourself comfortable. Have something to eat." He offered. "You look like you could use it."
I pursed my lips.
He laughed, watching my expression from a distance. "I'll meet up with you later."
"See you." I said.
He left, I left.
I knew that Braden and Elizabeth would still be in the food production unit where I left them. I'd already eaten to the point where I was stuffed. Right now all I wanted to do was get another look at Earth.
I went to a place where I knew I would find a window.
Looking down revealed the troubling sight I had been faced with earlier. It was clear upon closer inspection that all areas of land had shrunken - to the point where the continents looked distorted and unfamiliar.
I sighed, watching America roll by. I wondered how the world was reacting to what was happening. I wondered about my family, my home. Then I realized that I was looking at an America with now no New York - or rather, a flooded New York. It was difficult to believe my eyes. I didn't understand what had happened. How had things become this way?
