TW: Mention of abuse, nothing graphic.
Curled up in a corner of his room, Regulus was crying. Never had he been this mistreated by his parents. It was mostly Sirius who disappointed the family. He also mostly covered for Regulus. Ever since Sirius escaped the Black house, Walburga and Orion we're taking it out on Regulus. He missed his brother so much. He wondered day and night if his brother was safe. Regulus sobbed in that corner until it was dinner. His parents had called him down to eat. Quickly, the younger Black washed up.
When he arrived to the dining room, his mother started yelling about him being late. He was becoming used to it, and ignored her. Once she finished her ridiculously long speech, the supposed to be family started to eat. Regulus' arms were aching, but he had to keep a straight face. Everytime he brought his hand to his mouth, the boy was struggling to hold back tears. "Lovely dinner Mother," he said politely, knowing what was expected of him.
"So Regulus, do you have any news of your dear brother?", his father asked. It was a recurrent conversation they had ever since Sirius had ran away. Like every time, Regulus answered, "No,sir." Which was a blatant lie. In fact, Regulus knew the exact address of his brother's whereabouts. Sirius had contacted him, inviting him to join. Regulus had politely refused but the brothers had kept in touch, writing letters to each other almost everyday. "That filthy brat better come home quickly or else.... he doesn't know what's waiting for him," barked Walburga. Regulus was well aware his parents had been talking trash about his brother. Expect that last comment was it for the young man.
He was getting tired of his parents not loving him. As a kid he didn't really get to see how horrible his parents were. He was the obvious favourite. It hadn't hit him until now. It had taken his brother running away for him to realize how awful his parents were. Once they're punching bag was gone Regulus wasn't that of the favourite after all. His parents didn't hate him like they hated Siri but they certainly didn't love him. His mind made up, Regulus jolted up his chair and left the room to go pack up. Rushing up the stairs he ignored his parents calling for him. Finally, the necessary in his trunk, Regulus jumped out of his bedroom window hoping he wouldn't get hurt too badly.

Around midnight, at the Potter's house, we heard a small knock. Euphemia, having an easy light sleep, woke up. She got out of bed to go check who could possibly be at the door this time of night. Looking through her bedroom window, she saw a young man maybe around a year younger than James and Sirius. He had very similar traits to Sirius. Euphemia decided it was a good idea to go wake up James to see if her guess was right. She didn't need to worry Sirius for nothing. In the boys' room she made sure not to be too loud. "James. James. Wake up. There's someone I think you know at the door." Startled, James reached for his glasses. "Okay I'm going to see who it is."
James went downstairs and went straight for the front door. When he opened it he just stood. "uhhh. Hey Reg. What are you doing here?" Euphemia, who was halfway in the stairs, turned around to go get Sirius when she heard Regulus' name. Regulus didn't take the time to answer James' question. He rushed in and hugged James. A little shocked, he slowly hugged the younger teen. Once James' arms were around Regulus, the younger Black brother started crying. A couple of seconds, and we hear Sirius rushing down. "How is he?", panicke clear in his voice, "Does he have any bruises?" Hearing his brother's familiar voice made Regulus break down. He collapsed to the floor crying his lungs out.
