"Hello?" I answer groggily. Trying to clear my mind from the dreams that just had claim over it. Sitting up I push some of my curls out of my face that had gotten loose in my sleep.
"Evelyn, hi, its Harry. I'm sorry I'm calling so late, I know it must be like 3 am where you are but I just finished performing and I just needed to call someone." Harry says, pushing out the words till he sounds out of breath.
"Hi ...Harry, is everything okay?" I ask while worry starts to rise in me from the urgency in his voice.
"Yes, yes, everything's perfect actually. I was just calling because they loved it. They loved the record and they want me to sign with them and they want me to do a small tour around the U.S. to help promote it." Harry says sheepishly. If he were here I know a blush would be blooming across his cheeks, turning his cheeks from tan to crimson.
"Harry, that's incredible, I'm so happy for you. When would you start?" I ask, sleep easing from me with every syllable that comes out of my mouth.
"Two months, they need a few weeks to get a band together and venues booked and tickets sold but after that I'll be on tour for about nine weeks."
"That's amazing Harry. That's so exciting, I knew they would love you." I respond.
"Thank you Evie, I really don't know why I called, I could've just texted you all this so I'm sorry for waking you up, silly of me really." Harry says, his voice growing quieter.
"Don't worry, this was the best news I've had the pleasure of receiving at two in the morning. I'm happy to hear that they loved it, you deserve all of this." I can feel a smile growing with each word I say.
I hear a soft laugh come from the other end of the phone and I feel the smile on my face grow larger. I miss that laugh
"What did you say?" Harry asks, a smirk evident through his voice .
"What? I didn't say anything - "
"No you definitely just said I miss that laugh. Is it true? Do you miss my laugh?" he asks.
My face flushes and my room suddenly feels ten degrees hotter as I realize that I had accidentally said that out loud. "Yes" I barley manage to get out.
"Is that the only thing you miss? Don't you miss me at all?" he asks, his voice slowly going lower.
"You know I do Harry, you left quite the impression in your two days here. Even if I wanted to, there is no way I will ever be able to forget the rendition of Endless Love you and Niall performed" I respond.
He laughs even harder this time. "I miss you too Evie" he replies.
My breath hitches.
"Anyways I should probably let you get back to bed, I keep forgetting you're still in school and that I can't just call you up in the middle of the night expecting you to answer" Harry says.
"I guess I can make an exception for you, especially if you're calling with good news like tonight."
"Good, I'll let you get back to bed then" he says suddenly quiet again.
"Goodnight Harry"
"Goodnight Evelyn"
I hear a beep and then I'm suddenly looking at my lock screen again. Resting my phone back down on my bedside table I once again lie down, snuggling back under my covers. I try to ignore the butterflies in my stomach as I try to fall back asleep but their wings make a defining beat. A sound I couldn't ignore even if I wanted to.
