*Ringing* ... *Ringing* I sit up and look at the alarm clock next to me. 7:00 I almost overslept. I stretch and throw my legs over the side of the bed. *Ringing* Ok now I know I turned that clock off. I look behind me and realize that it's my phone. I pick it up and see Hunter's caller id.
Me: Morning sir.
Hunter: Morning we're hanging out today we'll get breakfast on the way.
Me: Yes sir can I have 30 minutes?
Hunter: Yes we leave at 8:00 anyway Stephanie will be joining us aswell.
30 minutes later
I throw on my shirt and tuck it into the waistband of my jeans. I probably should buy a handgun since I have a license to carry and I'm technically a bodyguard. I leave the bathroom and walk down the stairs to the kitchen. I see Stephanie making coffee and walk over.
Me: *smiling* Good morning ma'am
Stephanie: Morning Jones, sleep well?
Me: Yes ma'am yourself?
Stephanie: It could've been better.
Hunter walks in and I turn towards him.
Hunter: We're taking the Jeep I'm driving.
Me: Understood and may I speak to you in private sir?
Hunter: Yes
He leaves and I follow him until he stops at a corner.
Hunter: What's on your mind kid?
Me: I was wondering if I can have a free hour later today sir.
Hunter: Why?
Me: As my job description as a bodyguard I feel as if it's needed for me to have a concealed weapons.
Hunter: License?
Me: Yes sir license to carry
Hunter: After the day is finished you're off the clock starting from 6:00.
Me: Yes sir
Hunter: Good
50 minutes later
We arrive at Waffle House and exit the SUV. After entering the restaurant we are seated with Stephanie next to Hunter and me across from them. The three of us start looking at the menu. I look for my favorite item, I spot it and my mouth slightly waters, a Texas Bacon Eggs and cheese melt.
Stephanie: Are you ready to order honey?
Hunter: Yes, kid are you?
Me: Yes sir.
He waves over a waitress and she come over notepad in hand.
Waitress: Good morning are you ready to order?
Hunter: Yes I'll take a decaf coffee, steak and eggs.
Stephanie: Ham and cheese omelet with a classic coffee.
Me: Texas Bacon Eggs and cheese melt and I want my eggs scrambled.
Waitress: I'll be soon with y'all food.
Hunter: Thank you
She leaves and I continue looking at the menu not wanting to intrude on my bosses.
Hunter: I'll be back
He stands up and walk to the restroom leaving me and Stephanie at the table. She runs her shoes over mine, I look up seeing her giving me a sly smile. I respond by gently nudging her shoe back. I give her the same smile and we weirdly start a game of footies. Damn I'm really playing this childish game. She quietly giggles and we continue. I see Hunter exits the room and I'm guessing Stephanie did too because she stopped. Hunter sits down and a waitress comes to our table with the meals.
Waitress: Decaf coffee, steak and eggs for you sir. Ham and cheese omelet with a classic coffee for you miss. And last but not least, Texas Bacon Eggs and cheese melt with eggs scrambled.
Me, Hunter, and Stephanie: Thank you.
Hunter: So kid what title you want?
Me: I don't know but I know a idea that's best for business.
Stephanie: We're listening.
Me: Bring back the Hardcore and World Heavyweight championship.
Hunter: Sounds good maybe in a month or two but either way try World heavyweight is going to be on Raw.
Stephanie: Agreed
25 minutes later
Hunter pays for our meals and we exit the restaurant. I check my watch, 9:00. I sit down in the back of the Jeep and Stephanie turns on some music.
Haven't heard that on the radio in a while.
