"Joey! Breakfast is ready!" Mom shouted down the stairs as I rubbed away the grainy vision in my eyes.
"Be up in a minute!" I hollered back.
My room was in the basement so I pretty much get to be as loud as I wanted without any consequences, that's one of the perks of being the oldest. All things considered, I listened to enough records that my parents and little siblings wouldn't want me polluting the upstairs area with my music anyway.
I made my way up the stairs only to be tackled by the twins.
"Hi Joseph," my mom chuckled, looking down at the twins, "that's enough you guys, let him go," she ordered.
"Ugh fine!" they both whined in unison.
I sat down at the island in the kitchen and grabbed a couple of chocolate chip pancakes for myself, I also grabbed a couple for each of the twins.
"How'd you sleep, buddy?" my dad gleamed, wrapping an arm around my shoulder and squeezing me.
"good I guess," I groaned, even though he was the coach of the track team he had a hug like a football coach.
I finished eating and made my way down the stairs to finish getting ready before school. I put on a record and got changed into some loose, light blue jeans and a white track hoodie with a blue flannel. I brushed my teeth and did my hair, the worse part about having my mom's genes is that I had thick, brown, curly hair that seemed impossible to manage. I finally grabbed my bag and walked out the door.

I walked up to the school building, the same one I had been entering for three years now, but this time it felt different. I was starting senior year.
Though I have always been a confident person when it came to grades and my education, the same was not true for my insecurities and emotions.
I shuffled to my locker that's located farther than I had hoped.
I finally got there and placed all of my belongings in and organized it, only grabbing out what I needed for my first two classes before lunch.
My first two hours went well, though I was excited to chow down on some food, see, I go to a school that has block classes, so I have three classes one day, and three classes the next.
I have a few friends from the track team and we all spotted each other, giving knowing looks that that's who we'd be eating with.
"Hey Joey," Allan chuckled.
Apparently, he had been chuckling because Joyce tripped on her laces, causing her to stumble.
"What's up?" I enthusiastically replied. I was honestly curious about how their days were going considering I didn't know what else to talk about.
The three of us chatted for a couple of minutes before others joined the table, including the one guy who I wish hadn't, Levi Jackle.
God I hated him, he always had to be better, he always had to have a stupid grin on his face that charmed every single person in the room, everyone besides me.
He looked at me from across the table, glaring at me as I returned the expression.
"Somethings about to happen I think," whispered the dumbfounded Georgie, "Ow!" he whined as Johnny punched his shoulder, "What was that for?"
"Read the room idiot," was all he said, Allan, chuckling alongside him.
I ignored them as Levi and I continued staring at each other, trying to size each other up.
Mindy and Isa seemed to be too bothered to interact with this situation, as the two of them huddled around one of their phones.
Levi broke his gaze first when Allan got his attention, I just stared at his side profile a couple of extra seconds before finishing my lunch.
A few minutes before lunch was over, Joyce had left the table to go get track forms for the group, quickly returning and passing them out.

It was later in the day as I sat on my floor, shuffling my fingers through my albums to pick one out and put it on my record player, I finally picked one put and set it on the player.
Laying back, I picked up a book and began reading, today had me beat.
I got ready for bed and then proceeded to get under the covers, only to find that my phone was blowing up from a group chat Isa made.
They were always quiet but they were kind of like the mom of the group, always rallying everyone together, that's what I liked about Isa.
I had everyone in the group chat's contact in my phone except for Levi, for obvious reasons.
Allan: So guys, I was thinking we hit up the ice cream place after school tomorrow?
Georgie: ooohhhhhhh I love icecream
Mindy: Sounds great!
248-###-####: Sure im down
Allan: Great! Isa? Joey? Joyce?
Isa: Yeah, Joyce and I are hanging out right now and she said she wanted to go, so we're in!
Me: same here!
Georgie: woooohoooo im excited
Allan: WE KNOW!!!!!
Georgie: wow sheesh.
And with that, I turned my phone off and went to sleep.

What'd you guys think of the first chapter? What about the characters? Any predictions for what might happen?
I do have school so the upload schedule may be hectic but I'll most certainly try to get new chapters out at least once a week! Thank's for reading! Sorry this chapter was so short.
