"Are you sure?" Fury asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I wouldn't offer it to you then, would I?"

"You know, they have enough technical knowledge over there to fix it themselves." Fury crossed his arms over his chest in concern.

"Maybe. I just thought ... I wanted ..."

"Stark, whatever has happened in Siberia, let it rest for now. You should rest."

"I can not sleep. ", he muttered. His fingers pinched the wrinkles around his eyes.

Tony rose from his chair across from Fury.

"I looked at some old Hydra data on Sargent Barnes. I think I would be able to construct a new arm with simulated nerve tracts. I've already worked on a prototype. "

Fury snorted. He bowed his head briefly before he made eye contact with Mr. Stark again.

"I only want to help when I can. But the decision is up to him alone. ", Tony paced restlessly across the room.

"What if he attacks you again? What if he doesn't let him go alone? "

"He probably won't either. And when it comes to brainwashing, I may already have a plan. "

"Are you really sure?", Fury asked again, being worried.

"I have to do something.", Tony looked intently at Fury.

"Hmph ... well. I'll get a message to Romanoff. I will contact you again. "

Fury rose and went to the door of the room.

"It all stays between us, don't forget. And don't tell him anything about the new agreement. ", Tony asked the S.h.i.e.l.d agent.

"I don't even know what you're talking about.", with a serious face, Fury left the secure room in the Stark mansion.

"FRY, cancel security protocol 3 in the room."

"Yes, Boss. Audio in and outputs are open again. Boss, as a reminder, Mr. James Rhodes has his last rehab appointment today. ",  the AI voice assured him.

Tony entered his large living room on whose couch was a dark blue sweatshirt and pulled it on. While he was walking through his basement towards the underground car park, he put his "sunglasses" on and selected his silver audio for the drive to the special physiotherapy.

It was nothing new to him that the people around him were obviously whispering, but after the whole Sokovia thing and the clash in Germany and the separation of the Avengers, it was all more than uncomfortable for him. He tried to get through the hallways quickly and ignore the people around him. Following the nurse they stepped into a room in which there were some gymnastics equipment, including a kind of catwalk with two parallel bars, on which one should learn to walk slowly again, and this is exactly where Rhodey leaned against. Who greeted his best friend with a happy face.

"Hey Tony! See what I can do." Rhodey let go of the bars and walked from one end to the other without help, still a bit shaky. "I think your prostheses really help, who would have thought that.", he joked around.

Tony was still a little struck by the crowds he passed. It is as if the whispering cannot get out of his ears. He heard their voices and they almost drove him insane. He bit his lip and screwed up his eyes.

"Tony, ey Tony." Rhodey hobbled slightly to Tony, who was still standing at the door, and gently put his arm on his shoulder. "Tony?"

He breathed in and out deeply and opened his eyes again.
