"Aiden, for all we know, there are smaller one's that could get inside.." The Prince turned his head; looking at his love. The smaller merman was clinging to Caspian, clearly not taking any sort of no for a answer. The larger male grunted, glancing down at the small merman. He pulled Aiden around in front of him, "Aiden.."
Aiden kept his head low, giving a light shake of his tail fin. He found himself beyond frustrated, but he finally let go and dropped his arms as Caspian grabbed his own. His eyes glistened softly, that orange glow looked like a evening cloud after a heavy storm. Ones that the sun shined through at it's brightest before the sun was down for the night. Aiden found himself so lost and in need of security. The merman was scared of what was to happen. He had so many feelings rushing through his head, a hundred questions, but he knew Caspian was wanting to take guard to prevent Aiden from getting hurt. The small merman choked up and looked down. He had been doing rather well at holding himself together, but his walls were falling, and being out here in the dark had him in pieces. Aiden had never liked the dark. He did well to hold himself together. Back on the reef, he had been able to use jellyfish, the moonlight, glow worms. His room was never dark. Mostly because he had such trouble seeing in the dark. Even with that glow, the merman struggled with his sight.
Aiden found himself drawing back in the second he choked up. He glanced away from the warrior, "I'll, I'll stay back there. You just, be careful." Aiden turned to swim back deeper into the cave, but as he did, he felt Caspian's grip tighten on his wrist. The merman gave a flap of his tail to turn and look at Caspian, "What? Let go. I'm doing what you wanted." The smaller merman gave a pull of his wrist. Caspian let go, and the small male swam into the back. Aiden sulked down into the corner; curling himself into a ball and shutting his eyes. In the darkness of the waters, perhaps sleep was the best thing to attempt.

Caspian had wanted to follow Aiden into the cave, but the warrior had a job, and that was to protect his people. Aiden was the only one he could protect right now. As much as he wished his love would had stayed back, he found some comfort in not being alone with the beasts that lurked on the outside of the cave. The entrance wasn't big, but it was enough room for something to get in if it really wanted to, and they would be trapped with whatever had them.
Caspian sat down next to the entrance and watched. His thoughts were elsewhere though, thinking about Aiden. He saw how badly the other wanted him to stay, but the Prince couldn't. He'd risk killing them both, and that was the last thing Caspian wanted. The male brushed his fingers through his close shaved beard before rubbing the back of his head. He mumbled under his breath. Caspian found himself closing off from Aiden, almost afraid to open up fully, but he didn't want that.
Seeing the other so distressed, it only did the same for the warrior. His hand came up, brushing the bond wound that Aiden had given him.
Caspian let out a heavy sigh. It had been several hours now, and the world around them seemed to be lighting up. The bottom of the ocean was visible. The Prince had been watching for some time now, and he found his own energy dwindling at this point, but they couldn't stay there. The water was to open, and their pod was no doubt on the move, but they couldn't exactly leave either. For all they knew, they were still waiting inside the caves. Caspian knew for certain they would be at least spending the day there until they gained access back into the cave.
The male had started looking for larger rocks to block the entrance off with. He found several, and though it wouldn't stop something from coming in, it was enough to hide them from any sort of predator's eyes. Day had broke, and it seemed the waters were clear of any predators for now.
Caspian glanced back at Aiden. His love was hiding himself in the corner. The warrior had hoped he slept well enough for the next few days ahead. The male swam over to Aiden, and immediately, felt, off. The male had a different smell to him. One Caspian had never caught before. He swallowed, finding himself rather drawn to it at first. Caspian rubbed his face a bit, ignoring the fact. The male swam down next to Aiden. He pulled his lover close and gently held him in his arms. Caspian leaned down before gently kissing Aiden's cheek.
The small merman was still asleep as Caspian pulled him up into his arms. Aiden's eyes opened tiredly, and he soon found himself looking towards Caspian with softened eyes. Aiden yawned a bit, jumping at the soft kiss against his golden flaked cheeks. The merman looked up at Caspian before averting his gaze, "Is it time to leave?" Aiden curled close as the other held him. The smaller merman found himself pushing up close against him. The male breathed slowly, tensing a bit before he rubbed his hand over his own stomach. Tender. The male looked up at the prince, lightly cocking his head. The small merman felt, odd. His body was warm, which was even more strange considering he hadn't warmed himself since the previous day when they had left their reef. Aiden had never done well in cold waters.
"Hmm?" Caspian held the small male close as he let out deep breaths. His chest would raise, and the exhale made bubbles roll from his gills. The Prince shook his head, "No. We're waiting until the sun has set and for the cave to be visible. That's the safest way." He took note that Aiden was rather warm, even bringing his hand up to touch the others head. His cheeks were a bit flushed even, "Are you feeling alright?" The male gave a spin with Aiden close to his chest. The warrior rested back against the wall of the small cave with the smaller male resting in his lap.
Aiden glanced at the opening that had been their escape route before, "You blocked it off? Have you seen them?" The auburn haired male lifted himself up closer before resting his head on Caspian's chest, "I wonder if anyone waited for us. Do you think they're still in there?" He gasped softly as Caspian turned them. Aiden couldn't help but stretch out his tail, finding himself pressing his tail fin flat to Caspian's own. He stretched out his arms before wrapping them around the Prince's shoulders, "I'm alright. It's just, kind of warm in here I thought." He brought his hands up before rubbing his own cheeks. His eyes lit up a bit. The smaller merman noticed the other's breathing had quickened. A dark red flush came over the merman's cheeks as he found himself relaxing into the warrior. Aiden couldn't help his tension raise at the embrace.
Caspian's own heart was pounding. It could easily be felt, but even then, he seemed to do rather well at keeping a calm demeanor, "I haven't seen any since last night. The water is mostly clear. I think they were following the pod before they escaped into the caves." The male brushed his fingers through his own hair before snorting bubbles, "I doubt anyone waited for us, Aiden. With everyone traveling on limited resources, there isn't any sort of time to waste." Caspian had noted how oddly warm his love was getting. The male brushed his nails along Aiden's forehead before holding his palm on it, "You do feel warm.." The merman was letting off a rather luring scent. The Shark Class recognized it, but couldn't quite put a finger on it.
As Aiden had drew closer, the Prince's hands trailed, running down his hips. Caspian looked down at his love, grinning slightly when he saw Aiden lost in thought. The warrior ran his hands up the others sides, trailing lightly with his claws. The two's eyes locked for a moment as Aiden found himself staring off into Caspian's eyes. The warrior had tensed, and Aiden had done the same, "Aiden.." The Prince brought his hand up and held his neck, allowing his fingers to brush the sides of his neck, "We'll get you somewhere safe." The Prince was picking up the signals. A possible cycle, but Caspian wasn't exactly sure either, having never experienced it with a partner himself. It didn't typically take long for a cycle to start after the first step of the bonding process. Aiden was clearly showing first signs, but Caspian kept that to himself. His only interests revolved around Aiden's comfort, and holding him was the best thing to his love, "Just relax for me. Stop thinking about what's happening and just, rest."
Aiden's body had tingled as the nails glided up his sides, "A-Ahem.." The small male pressed his face into Caspian's neck. He had been resting, but he still felt so, tired. The merman brought himself close; breathing softly as he watched through the small cracks in the rocks Caspian had stacked, "What do you think the Forgotten Waters are like, Caspian?" Aiden traced his finger over the male's chest, "I'd like to think that they are actually safe." The small male swallowed, "I hope everyone else is safe as well." Aiden was worried about the queen, but the mermaid could certainly take care of herself, but that didn't stop Aiden from missing her.
Caspian rubbed up and down his love's back, occasionally trailing down his rump with his large hands, only to bring them back up to the other's hips. He thought about Aiden's question for a moment, "I'd like to believe them to be what dreams are made of, Aiden." The Prince kissed Aiden's forehead, "I want to believe that nothing can come there, that you will be safe with the rest of the pod.." Caspian lifted Aiden's chin. Truthfully, the one he was most concerned about was his mother. The mermaid was fierce, and rather hard headed, but the Prince wasn't there to lead, and he worried the the female would become overwhelmed, "I'm certain we'll see them soon, Aiden. We just have to wait for night to fall. We'll catch up, don't worry."
