Aiden looked down quietly. His face had gone completely red. The male shifted a bit before turning his attention away from the larger male. Aiden looked over at the mermaids and others who were in their group. His eyes widened a bit, and he mumbled. The bracelet crafters were fanning over Caspian. Whispering to one another with soft giggles, but every one of them knew that Aidan had quite the feelings attached, but warriors were well wanted by anyone.

Caspian happened to be going through training. For some time, he was away in practice and preparing for the day, if it ever come, that he could defend his people from the Land Walkers above. He always seemed like the first one to go up to the job. Caspian was brave, and always ready.

It wasn't just his level of superiority that they fanned over. Caspian was nearly 8' in size. His hair was dark and just below his shoulders, sleek and smooth. Caspian had a well kept beard that was  as dark as his hair. The warrior's eyes were a crystal, pristine blue. So clear, they were nearly white. Often he seemed cold, and he never smiled. His shoulders were broad, and his frame toned from constant training. Caspian had large hands with blackened sharp nails, and blue webs between his fingers. Around his left wrist, he wore a golden band with a shark carved into the soft metal.

His tail, was powerful. It was black as night, but the sun made it shimmer with a deep blue. It speckled in small white dots that gave that natural shimmer. The end, came out like a shark tail with a fin that had been ripped off partially, and a large scar that trailed his tail. Three long marks that dragged down. The end, had a white stripe around the base of his tail, "Aiden, it's alright." Caspian tilted his head a bit before glancing over at the mermaids. He gave a light nodd of his head before giving a gesture, "Tonight, before the Pearl Dance, will you meet me at the thick seaweed at the end of the cove? I'd like to talk to you then." Caspian glanced around a bit before giving Aiden a soft pat on the shoulder, "Can you do that for me?"

Aiden tensed a bit. The male looked up at Caspian as his tail danced around. Aiden would get nervous at times, and seemed to feel crowded rather suddenly. He glanced around for a moment, but as Caspian spoke, he listened, "Talk? You bolted last night.." Aiden wiped his eyes. They were puffy, and he seemed tired, "Why can't we talk now?" Aiden had came to. He had poured out his heart the night before, and now he was scared.

Aiden had known Caspian nearly his entire life. During his first few years of life, they lived much farther south. Where it was warmer and always sunny. Lux Cove had been their home since birth, but after they had been spotted by human's, their life changed. Everyone's had.

Aiden's parents were murdered. The attack had been at night, and all it took was the lights being seen after a late evening. Aiden, had nearly been killed himself that night. He was seven, Caspian eleven. Their parents had been close, and Aiden had been grabbed up by Caspian's mother as they fled. The days were long when they swam, and many lost loved ones to the Land Walkers.

Caspian and Aiden had become inseparable since. With age though, it was clear what roles each were taking. Caspian was always practicing. The merman would brawl with others his age, and Aiden never caught up in size, but speed was another story. They always made time for each other, until Caspian turned eighteen and began training to become a warrior. Aiden stayed home with Caspian's mother, Lana to help hunt and gather.

Caspian had been gone so much. It wasn't until his twenty-first year, he had been able to stay home permanently. By then, Caspian should had been mated, but that wasn't the case.

Caspian hadn't chosen anyone the year before, but Aiden hadn't asked. The feminine merman wasn't one to do so, but this year was different. Caspian was so busy with guarding and work, he never made time for home with Lana and Aiden, but the younger male had found his own personal hide, but he always went to see his adopted mother.

Caspian, now twenty-two, and Aiden eighteen, they were both without a single suitor. Both of them refused anyone, but neither had ever asked the other until now.

The ravened haired mermaid looked about for a moment. He let out a soft sigh, seeming to feel the sting when Aiden snapped at him over leaving so suddenly. He gave a light nodd of his head, "Aiden, I want to talk to you in private, but I have things I need to do before the Pearl Dance tonight. Can't you wait a little while longer?" Caspian tilted his head to the side before placing his hand on top of the small male's head, "Aiden, I'm-" Caspian fell silent before drawing his hand back. Other warrior's were falling in, and he seemed to draw back he did around others, "On duty." He finished, but that didn't sound like what he wanted to say. The male swam back a bit, "The seaweed, Aiden. Trust me?" Caspian looked towards the other's, who acted just the same. Being on duty meant working.

"Caspian," A large male swam up. He was a bit bigger then Caspian. His hair was peppered with black and white, and his body scarred and worn. His eyes a seaweed green, tail a deep green with the same shape as Caspian's, but pink with scars from a life of defending. His face had a large scar going across the whole of it. He wore a gold armor on his shoulders and wrists, and on his back, carried a spear decorated with words and clear arrowhead on the top. He also wore the golden bracelets on his wrists. As he approached, the mermaids all swam back to their spots working, but Aiden stayed in place with a kind smile.

"Aiden, my sweet lad, how are you?" He glanced at Caspian then back at Aiden, "I hope you're keeping him in line while I'm gone."

Caspian's father. The red haired merman smiled sweetly before giving a soft wave, but he kept his distance, but his smile had returned, "I do my best, Chief."

"It's Drake. You should know that by now." The male gave a soft bow of his head before looking at Caspian, "I thought I told you to relax, son."

Drake, he was Caspian's father, a strong chief and the savior of many. He was there when Aiden had lost his family. He had broken chains, and saved Caspian from being ripped from the waters.

He looked over at Caspian and then back at Aiden. Drake smiled lightly as he gave Caspian a light shove, "Are you taking Aiden to the Pearl Dance."

"Father.." Caspian rolled his eyes now, mumbling under his breath as he turned his attention elsewhere.

"Caspian?" Drake remarked with a grin on his face. The male cocked his head to the side. He placed his hand on his shoulder; seeming to become rather serious, "Why don't you come with me? We have work to do elsewhere. Aiden, I'll see you tonight, enjoy this day, hmm?" Drake gestured to Caspian, "Come Caspian. We have work to do."

"Yes sir."
