Summer

Oh! Summer has reigned over us.
As storms swept away the last of Spring,
Summer shall mark its name as it will hoarsely sing.
Sooted skies were ashen with Summer's reign corrupt,
scorching Spring's fading complexion, corrupt.
Conquered were her unspoken terror, luscious yet cold.
There, chaos pranced through the ballrooms of flame, lustrous and bold,
while thy luminous wrath had wrought us a sea of storms.
The dawning sears of sunlight then shall swarm-
unravelling the fiery skies of May, its gilded eyes now faded;
the last of roses poisoned under, its sweet perfume now faded.

As our hopes rot unspoken,
Lost was warmth's rust token.
Who would rejoice in this world of chaos,
as Summer blighted thy hearts?
