The Zombie Invasion

Part 6:Indication

"Alisa!! No...no...it can't be her! Sh...she is your sister?"Kesley asked. "I mean, unless you aren't hearing things, that's what I said." Kyla said, being confused from this unexpected reaction from Kesley. 

Kesley: "But she has become a zombie! If she is the second author how come she became one. I am sure that's not something either of you might have written."

Kyla:"WHAT! How do you know??"

Kesley:"I saw her...we saw her. Rose! Where did Rose vanish with her father in like 10 seconds!"

Kyla:"Wait wait..we were talking about Alisa first. That's not possible, she can't become a zombie!!"

The chaos was broken by the lightning and thunder of clouds. It started raining heavily.

Kesley:"I guess the nature wants us to stay here and figure out things."

Again both of them were surrounded by silence, the pitter patter of raindrops and rustling of leaves being the only source of sound. But unlike the first time, the silence was not of ignorance rather it was filled with knowledge, knowledge of things one doesn't want to accept.

"Okay...I don't know...but it's really hard to accept that Alisa..." Kyla sighed, unable to complete her sentence.

"I understand...don't worry, we will find a way out.We just need to figure out how this whole thing is working. Kyla try to think...there might be something...something which can tell us whose part of the story is going to be true next."Kesley said.

Just then, she noticed something. As the lightning struck, her attention was caught by Kyla's necklace. It had turned in a manner that the K now seemed somewhat like the mathematical symbol pi....or more like an A!!!

Kesley:"Kyla its your necklace...see how its turned...it resembles an A..just not that clearly..I am so sure it was a perfect K when me and Rose met you at the cafe!Maybe its an indication!!!"

Kyla noticed her necklace and was shocked until a smile crept on her face.

Kyla: "You are right!It indeed is an indication. When we met at the cafe, it was my part of the story,so it was in the shape of  K.Now it's maybe the turn of Alisa's part,so it's somewhat like an A."

They both hugged each other and for the first time since the morning,they experienced a sense of relief.

This moment of happiness didn't last for long as suddenly Kyla said, "Oh god!!Kesley we need to leave from here as soon as possible!"

Kesley:"But it's still raining, Will you be able to drive,when all you would see is buckets of water splashed on the windows."

Kyla:"We have a much bigger problem here. According to my part this place was supposed to be safe..and you see Alisa always thought the complete opposite.."  "And it's the turn of her part now."Kesley completed quickly realising the situation.

They both ran towards the car, getting in as fast as possible.They were right.But they were not as fast in cracking the things,as they thought they were.

The heavy rains,didn't allow them to see the huge mob of zombies coming towards them.Now that they were really close,both of them shuddered sensing the close proximity.They were a lot in number,and were already surrounding the car. Some had entered the house and broke the chairs were the two girls were earlier sitting.It was a mess.A big one.

"You need to drive over them."Kesley said while gently patting Kyla who already knew what was coming. "I ca...can't."she stuttered.

"You can.It's now or never."Kesley said.

Closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath,Kyla started the car and pushed down the accelerator. The car rampaged through the zombie mob, clearing them out of the way.Due to the heavy rain,it does seemed like someone was splashing water on the windows,just that it was mixed with a red pigment,of blood.

Some who had climbed on the roof were thrown violently on the turns,as Kyla continued to drive in a berserk way to get rid of them and partially due to her fear.

"Does that count as murder?"she finally said after they were away from the walking dead. "If a dead person can die again,then maybe yes."Kesley replied and they both ended up laughing.

While driving they didn't realise where they were going and found themselves on the road which passed through the forest.The windows were stained with the red pigment and were starting to get foggy as night was descending.

"I guess we will have to spend the night here,in the forest."Kyla said.

"Doesn't sound like a good idea."Kesley replied.
