The Zombie Invasion

Part 7:Nostalgia

Kyla stopped the car beside a small clearing amidst the forest. As they stepped out, the cold wind set them both shivering.

Kesley:"Do you by any chance have a blanket or something in your car?"

Kyla:"Wait till you see what all I have."

She opened the car trunk. There were all sort of supplies one would need to camp,or to say survive a really rare occasion of having to spend a night in the forest with the zombies hunting for you.

Kesley:"Girl you got stuff! I mean how?Is it common for you to be stranded in a forest?"she joked.

Kyla:"Hahaha...not funny."she fake laughed."Actually, I was planning to go camping next week so I brought all this..never knew it would come in use so early."

Kesley:"Good for us."

With that they started setting up the camp and sleeping bags.Grabbing some of the snacks they made themselves comfortable and gazed at the stars while munching.

Kyla:"Do you think we will survive?"

Kesley:"Of course! We have to save others as well.Oh!! What about our flight?What are we going to tell our parents?"

Kyla:"Don't worry about that,we can tell them we didn't make it to the airport due to the zombies,it's going be fine."

Kesley smiled and laid on her back to have a better view of the night sky.The grass was damp and slowly the mist was getting denser.

Kesley:"Hey,I should have asked this at the first place but why is your story getting true?"

Kyla:"Honestly,even I don't know.If there is something ,it's not in me or Alisa,it's in the notebook,the notebook which our mother gave us."

Kesley:"Your mother?Did she know magic or something?"

Kyla:"I don't know if we should call it magic..but my mother was special.My father wanted that notebook to himself,but our mom gave it to us instead and asked us to run away with it."

Kesley:"But why would she do that?"

Kyla:"Because my mom left my father after she knew his intentions weren't good.All he wanted was to keep the notebook to himself. We never saw our father and started living with our mom in a different city.It was all good until one night we heard our mom scream,maybe my father had come .She came into our room ,locking the door behind.I still remember what she said after handing us the notebooks

'Take these with you and remember whatever you write, write it together.There is an invisible bond connecting these two notebooks just like how you two are connected,connected with love and memories. The beginning of both of you is the same,your life paths maybe different but then in the end you need to unite,for the sake of love,for the sake of your mother,you will have to unite."

With that she helped us to get out of the house and we ended up in an orphanage.We didn't hear from our mother from that day onwards. I don't even know if she is alive..."

Tears rolled down her cheek remembering the last words she heard from her mother.Kesley comforted her.

Kesley:"Don't say that..she must be alive.From what you told me she seems to be a really strong woman.She might not have contacted you,in order to keep you safe from your father."

Kyla:"I hope so.But the weight of her words still burden my heart.It seems like I still haven't understood what she meant.Only if she told us that whatever we write comes true,we might not have wasted it writing such a story,it's because of us that the people have to suffer."

Kesley:"Don't blame yourself.It isn't your fault.But now we need to find a way out and am sure we will.We need to find Rose and Alisa as well."

Kyla:"Yes and I hope she hasn't actually become a zombie."

A few more tears rolled down her cheek but she didn't show it.Slowly both of them fell asleep.

It was almost midnight when Kesley woke up hearing some faint whispering.A wave of fear passed through her.She quickly woke Kyla up and they both tried to focus on the whispering which was much more clear now.

Kesley:"It's Rose!"she said and was about to jump and go out of their tent but Kyla stopped her.She gave her a torch instead and kept one to herself.

Kyla:"We never know.Be careful"she mouthed.

They slowly came out of the tent and as they expected, it was..Rose.

Rose:"Oh!You two are awake.I was so worried"

Kesley and Kyla, maintaining a safe distance from Rose stood in front of her.

Kyla:"How did you know we are here?"

Rose smirked and said,"You sound rude...oh! do you doubt me?In that case,why should I waste my time?"

As she moved, they again saw the same dreadful scene which they had escaped the same evening. A mob of zombies walking towards them,just that they seemed to be more in number this time.

Kesley:"No Rose!It's not you!"

She shouted and started running as Kyla pulled her.

Kyla:"Use the torch!They are afraid of light."

Flashing their torches to ward off the zombies, they ran towards the car. Suprisingly Rose didn't follow them.

As they were about to drive, they both saw Rose's father.

And beside him was......Alisa.
