A twist of Events

Midori and you talk to each other as you made your way inside the bubbletea place while Sakusa stayed silent.

You chose a table to sit on and started looking at the menu. You look over to Sakusa and find him struggling on which flavor he should pick as if it costed his life to choose.

"Have you decided what to order now?" A tall black haired girl asked with a smile on her face.

You look at the two of them, Midori gave you a thumbs up while Sakusa gave a reassuring nod.

"Ah yes!" You said in your usually loud and jolly voice.

"By the way...who's paying?" Midori asked with one brow raised.

You point to your nose and say "Dibs not it!" You look over to Midori as she does the same.

Sakusa sighs and takes out his wallet in preparation for the payment.

"Ok so what will you have?" The lady asked.

"I'll have a coconut bubbletea and a ham sanswhich please!" Midori interrupts with an excited look on her face.

"Wait who said you could order something aside from bubbletea?? Do you know how much this is gonna damage my financial life??"

You look to your left and find Sakusa glaring at Midori.

You interrupt and laugh "Don't worry Sakusa I'll chip in a bit of cash to help you pay!"

His face turns red and he looks away.
"I'll get a wintermelon bubbletea please!" You said.

"And for you young man?" The lady asks looking at Sakusa.

"I'll have a honeydew bubbletea..." he said.

"Alright that will be 1,760 yen" the lady smiled as I gave sakusa 760 yen, he took out 1,000 yen from his wallet and payed for our order.

"It'll be here in just a minute" The lady said and walked away.

Sakusa then starts to glare at Midori, while Midori tried to avoid eye contact.

You try to ease up the tension by trying to start a conversation.

"So Midori! How was California?" You asked. That's when she started to jump up and down like a child.

"RIGHT! I HAVE A LOT OF THINGS TO TELL YOU ABOUT THAT PLACE!" She said.

She started babbling about the weather and how it was hotter than Japan. You laughed as you realized she didn't change one bit.

Sakusa just watched the two of you laugh.

Your order finally arrived. Your eyes sparkle at the sight of bubbletea. You immediately take of the plastic from your straw and proceed the process. Midori did the same, she also ordered a ham sandwhich, she stuffed her face with the sandwhich, she then drank her coconut bubbletea.

"I don't understand why I don't have normal female friends.." Sakusa said and sighed.

You and Midori burst out into laughter "DID HE JUST CALL US HIS FRIENDS?" Midori said while laughing.

Sakusa, realizing the situation he put himself in, started to get red and flustered.

"Oh by the way Y/n" Midori said.

"Hm what is it?" You aksed.

"How's your parents?" She smiled at you as if she knew nothing.

Sakusa coughed as he looked at you stunned by the question.

"I thought you knew.." you said nervously.

"What do you mean?" She asked, she really did know nothing.

You started to break down in tears in front of the two. Sakusa grew nervous and took you outside.

"Are you okay?" He asked as tears continued to fall from your eyes.

"Im sorry I just...don't really like talking about it...can you..tell her for me?" You ask as your voice tremble.

"I got it, why don't you bring your bubbletea home, I'll talk to her for now" he said as he squeezed both of your hands.

You nod in responce, you go back inside the bubbletea place, waved goodbye too Midori and left.
