It was already late in the evening when you and Javi decided to go to the bar for a drink. In a way you wanted to celebrate that you were finally together and for once you wanted to forget about all the Escobar crab. All of the work had been piling up on you at the Embassy, and it was finally timo to relax a bit and to let off some steam.

Well, that didn't work out.

As Javi and you were ordering you drinks, he received a phone call. He excused himself and quickly answered. You tried reading his expression to try and guess what the conversation was about, but he was too hard to read.

"Fuck," Javi said as he sat back down.
"What's wrong? What happened?" you asked him quickly.
"Escobar escaped," he answered.
"What? How?" you asked shocked. How on earth could he have escaped?

Javi quickly explained his knowledge on the topic to you, but you couldn't do anything but nod.
The one night that you didn't want to think about Escobar, he escapes from his own fucking prison.
And how he had managed to do so was beyond you. You knew that there were a lot of  corrupt soldiers and officers in Colombia, but that they had let Escobar escape?

"Do you want me to call Steve?" you asked Javi. They just had somewhat of a fight, so you weren't sure if they even were on speaking terms anymore.
"No. I'll do it," he answered gently and started dialing Steve's number. There was a long pause.
"Murphy," Javi started. "Escobar's out," pause. "He's fucking out. He took Sandoval hostage during the siege and when the army went in...he escaped. Walked right out," Javi continued.
After a short pause, Javi put the phone away.

"Let's go," Javi said and took your hand in his. "We're going to meet Steve in 10 minutes," he informed you.

You sighed. This could be a long night.

After you picked up Steve you drove to the Embassy. The atmosphere during the drive was awkward and the tension could be cut with a knife. You turned around to take a look at Steve who was sitting in the backseat. He looked rough and exhausted.
Last time you saw him he looked a lot better.
If you had to guess, you'd probably guess that he and Connie had fought again. That was something that seemed to be happening a lot more often between the two lately.
You quickly discarded your thoughts and decided that now was not the time to ask your brother any personal questions. You were just going to have to do that later.

Once you were at the Embassy, you needed to come up with a plan. President Gaviria was willing to go door to door in order to finally catch Escobar.
Javi and Steve, however, couldn't seem to agree on anything which made coming up with a plan a lot harder.

Javi and Steve were bickering back and forth to a point that you decided that you couldn't take it anymore.
"Alright, that's enough," you told them. "Agent Murphy, Agent Peña. It would be nice if you could put your personal issues aside for just one moment so that we can finally come up with a plan. We all have the same goal which is to catch Escobar," you paused and looked at them. "I'm going to get myself a cup of coffee and when I'm back, you two have either talked about the issues you two have or you have decided to just stop fighting, okay?" you asked them to which they nodded.

You passed Javi as you were leaving the room who leaned closer to you.
"That was unbelievable hot right now," he whispered so that Steve couldn't hear.
"I know," you told him smirking and left the room.

Once you came back, Steve and Javi seemed to have finally agreed on a plan that you were going to pursue.
Gaviria was going to search for Escobar. He was willing to knock on every single door in Medellín if it was necessary.
You and your two partners wanted to be part of it.
So it was decided that you would drive to la Catedral first thing in the morning to get the job done and to see if there was any valuable information you could use.
It was as simple as that. Wasn't it? Well, guess again.
