You entered your apartment after the moment you had just shared with Javi and you noticed that you felt weird. Good weird, though. You did like the attention that he seemed to give you and you really felt like you could truly open up to him.

You closed the door to your apartment. However, something seemed off. You had a gut feeling that something was wrong, really wrong. Suddenly you heard a creak coming from your bedroom.
You intuitively reached for where you usually kept your gun, but noticed that it wasn't there.
"Dammit" you mumbled. You must've left it over at Steve's.
If there was somebody in your bedroom, you knew that you couldn't go there without your gun. It was too dangerous.

You decided that you needed help. It had only been about two minutes since you entered your apartment, so you decided that you would just act as though you forgot to tell Javi something, so that whoever was in your bedroom wouldn't get suspicious.

"Oh fuck, how could I forget" you acted and opened your apartment door. "Javi" you said and quickly went over to his apartment and knocked on his door.
"Open up" you whispered quietly hoping that he would open the door quickly.

Once Javi opened the door, you quickly pulled him close which caught him by surprise.
"There someone in my apartment" you told him. Javi quickly grabbed his gun and went over to your apartment. He entered since the door was still opened and he pushed you behind him.

Javi signaled you to be quiet and slowly went over to your bedroom with his gun raised.
He quickly pushed open the door and looked around to see that nobody was inside.
However, you did see that the window was wide opened.
"He must've left when I went to get you" you told Javi. "I'm sorry for the trouble, Javi"
"(Y/N)?" he asked you and went over to the cupboard in the corner of your room. You went to stand next to him and saw what it was that he was looking at.

There was a box of dead rats places on top of it which nearly made you puke. But that wasn't al of it.
Next to the box, there was a picture of you that was taken when you were training to be an agent. Your face had been crossed off with a red marker and there was a knife stabbed into the middle of your face.

This quickly brought tears to your eyes and you let out a sob. Javi quickly pulled you into his arms as you started to cry.
He stroked your hair softly as he tried to calm you.
At some point, he must've called Steve since he was now standing next to you and he pulled you into a hug as well.
He told you that everything was going to be alright, but it honestly didn't feel like it was.

Shortly after, a crime scene investigation unit came to see whether or not the intruder left any traces but to your dismay there was nothing.

"Are you sure you're going to be okay?" Steve asked you after you told him that he should leave to get some sleep.

"I'll be fine. Thanks for being here though" you tolles him and hugged him. "Good night, Steve" you told him and with that he left hesitantly.

Now it was just you and Javi left in your room. You took a seat in your bed and put your head in your hands.

"I'm sorry this happened to you" Javi told you and took a seat next to you. "But I promise you, we'll catch whoever did this." Javi took you hand in his and offered you a smile. You could tell that he was worried about you, and you could understand why.
You didn't really know what to do. You didn't feel safe in your own apartment. The place you had come to call your home over the past few weeks.

"Thanks Javi. I just don't know what to do now. I mean, I can't stay here. What if they'll come back?" you told Javi worriedly.

"You don't have to worry, (Y/N). There are officers posted in front of our doors 24/7. But if you want, you can stay with me tonight. We can figure out the rest tomorrow. Okay?"

"Thanks, Javi"
Javi grabbed your hand and led you over to his apartment. He gave you some of his clothes for you to change into which you did.

Once you came back from changing, you saw that Javi was preparing himself to sleep on the couch.

"Javi?" "Yes" "I know that you've already done so much for me, but do you think it would be okay if you slept in the bed with me. I know that it might be weird, but I'd just feel a lot safer like that." you told him shyly.

You knew that it was an unusual request to ask your friend to share a bed with you, but this also was an unusual situation.

"Of course. Anything for you, dear."

You and Javi went to his bedroom and he closed the door behind himself. He put his gun on the bedside table, just incase, and lied in bed next to you.
It was dark which was why you could only see bits and pieces of him.

You heard a noice from outside, so you intuitively shuffled closer to Javi who put his arm around you.
"You don't have to be scared. It was just the neighbor" he told you, but he kept his arm around you.

You looked up at Javi and you noticed once again how close you were to him. You noticed that Javi's eyes flickered between your eyes and your lips, unsure of what to do next.
"Screw it" you mumbled and closed the gab between your lips. Javi immediately kissed you back and pulled you closer, if that was even possible.
The kiss was filled with passion and it felt perfect. It felt right.
Your lips moved perfectly in sync until you decided that you needed some air.

"Wow" you whispered.
"Wow" Javi repeated.

You continued looking into Javi's eyes and he smiled at you. He didn't seem to regret the kiss, and neither did you.

Javi pecked your lips once more and placed his hand on your cheek.
"You should get some sleep now. I'm right here, okay?" Javi told you. You lied back down in bed and Javi put his arms around you in a protective manner. And with that you fell asleep.

You were still scared, but you felt safe and protected and that was enough for you right now.
