"What the fuck was that?!"

Daithi whispered frantically, cowering in the far corner of the room, while his fellow Irishman ventured over to peer through a grimy window.

"I don't know!"

Jack hissed, eyes wide in fright. He had taken cover shortly after Daithi had crashed into him, gathering himself before promptly rushing into the room. He had woken up to the sounds of screaming and shouting, and had been curious enough to venture out to take a look when Daithi had run into him. Now they crouched in the dingy room, breathing quickly as their pulses thundered in their ears. Jack retreated back to the corner, sitting on his haunches so he could look at Daithi in the eyes.

"Hey,"

He murmured softly, putting a hand on the black-haired male's thigh,

"We're gonna be alright,m'kay?"

Daithi nodded shakily, and Jack smiled faintly, leaning forward and lightly kissing the other's forehead. They had gotten together over Skype, and met up every week, three times, often spending the night at the other's house. Their relationship was still strong, despite being a bit awkward.

After about ten minutes of dead silence, the two Irishmen peeked out of the building before creeping out slowly. They saw a frantic wave from a building not too far away, and glanced at each other nervously. Taking a deep breath, they sprinted towards the building, which looked like a house through all the ruin. Krism had been the one to signal them, and was cradling her fiancée close, who appeared to be unconscious.

"Are you two alright?"

The girl asked hurriedly, and as soon as they nodded, she directed them into a kitchen, where two males were conversing in low tones. They looked up in alarm as the two Irish entered, but a slightly more relaxed look crossed over them at the familiar faces.

"Daithi!"

"Hey Marcel,Lui,"

Daithi said,a look of relief flickering in his eyes.

"I'm glad you guys are okay."

"We're good,"

Marcel reassured him,

"Just a few scratches,that's all."

Daithi nodded, and Krism appeared in the doorway, free of Minx at the moment.

"We should try and get everyone together,"

She says immediately, and the other four murmur in agreement.

"Michelle is still out,but I've bandaged it up pretty well."

Jack suddenly looked alarmed,

"What happened?"

"She got shot,"

Daithi whispered in his ear,and Jack went pale, biting the inside of his cheek. Krism faltered a bit before saying,

"There hasn't been another gun shot,so it would be a safe idea,as long as we're wary and careful."

"Yes'm,"

The four chirped,a look of determination shared between them.

"Alright,"

Krism nods,

"Marcel,Lui,you take the hotel and apartment complex, try and round up anyone who's hiding out. You two can check any other buildings in the vicinity, since no one would have attempted to get to the supermarket; it's father away."

Jack and Daithi nodded, and swiftly left the kitchen after Marcel and Lui,exchanging worried glances as they exited the house. The two pairs nodded to each other before setting off, slinking into the shadows in order to not be so out in the open.

Upon arriving at one of the other houses,Jack and Daithi found Scott and Hutch cooped up in a living room,Hutch pressing a surprisingly clean cloth to the other's side. They both looked up as they heard the intruders, but relaxed upon seeing familiars.

"What happened?"

Jack immediately asked, and Hutch lowly responded,

"I don't know. We ran for this building and Sark suddenly stumbled, clutching his side. I panicked at tore up the bathroom to find something to stop the bleeding."

"Brennon's in the bathroom trying to find something to clean it,"

Scott supplied, his voice wavering. Hutch "shush"'ed him, pressing a kiss to his temple, making Scott go quiet, putting a hand over Hutch's impulsively. Jack smiled endearingly before nodding and inquiring,

"Do you think you'd be able to make it to somewhere else?"

"Maybe,"

Hutch responded for Scott,

"It's not bleeding too badly,so I could probably carry him."

Scott blushed crimson but didn't say a word as an awkward silence settled over the room. Just then,Brennon enters the room with a disappointed look,

"I couldn't find anything,so-- Daithi? Jack? You two alright?"

The two nodded, before quickly explaining that Krism was trying to get everyone together. Brennon nods in understandment,

"Well,Hutch and I can help Scott, and maybe that house'll have some cleaning supplies."

"Good,"

Daithi smiles grimly,

"Whenever you guys are ready."

Hutch took a breath before lifting Scott up,pulling one of the man's arms around his shoulder. Brennon quickly goes to Scott's other side, draping Scott's other arm over his shoulder.

"All set,"

Hutch confirmed, and they carefully exited the house, making their way over to Krism's as quickly as they could. Once inside,Krism quickly made room on a couch for Hutch and Brennon to lay Scott on. Brennon was happy to find what they needed in the bathroom, and worked on cleaning the wound carefully.

"I'll watch them,"

Krism says quietly as Jack and Daithi re enter the kitchen,

"You two still need to find the others."

They nodded, exiting the house once more with a slightly concerned look. They ransacked the houses, and each time they found someone, they directed them back to Krism. By the time they finished looking and headed back, there was at least 10 other people. Mark and Aaron were in the kitchen, talking quietly with Bob and Wade, while Jordan,Seamus,Aleks,Kevin,Dan,and James were separately trying to soothe their significant other in different rooms. Krism was anxiously watching out a living room window, waiting for Marcel and Lui to get back with whoever they found.

Jack and Daithi had retreated to the bathroom, which was currently uninvaded and empty, where the sat in a peaceful quiet. Daithi was sitting on the edge of the bathtub while Jack was perched on the sink counter, both humming softly. Daithi was the one to break the silence,

"What do you think is happening,Jack?"

"I'm not sure,"

Jack admitted quietly,

"But it's definitely not going well for some of us."

Daithi fell silent before responding,

"What do you think will happen?"

"I don't know,Daith,"

Jack said sadly,

"I don't really want to think about it."

"I'm sorry,"

The taller apologised, getting up to stand in front of Jack, pressing his forehead to the other male's,kissing his nose gently.

"It's okay,"

Jack mumbled, and leaned forward, wrapping his arms around Daithi's torso, hugging him tightly. Daithi smiled sadly,a hand running through Jack's feathery,brown-blonde hair as he hugged him closer. I hope this ends soon,he thought dryly, despite knowing that it probably wouldn't.
