Part 11

SUNGHOON'S POV
My dad harshly grabbed my arm and dragged me up to my room. "Dad stop!". He opened the door and shoved me into my room. Before i could say anything he slapped me across my cheek. Holding my cheek with my hand, i looked at him. I knew this was coming, because this is what happens when i don't obey my father.

"DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU'RE BRINGING OUR FAMILY IN DANGER?". He yelled at me. "You're lucky no one saw you with that maid!". "She's not just a maid". I said quietly. "SHE IS! AND SHE'S CAUSING TROUBLE". I put my head down. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have gone after her. She will get punished because of me.

"Why can't you just obey your father for once!?". I rolled my eyes. "Don't you dare roll your eyes at me young man! What has gotten into you lately!?". "Nothing". I said with a sigh. "Good, now apologize for your wrongdoings". At this moment i just wanted to yell at him, tell him that i didn't do anything wrong. "Sunghoon! I'm not repeating myself!". I sighed. "Fine, i apologize father".

"Good. You won't be leaving your room until tomorrow morning". He walked out of my room and slammed the door shut. I sighed and laid down on my bed. All i wanted to do right now, was to be at the ice rink with y/n. Why did it have to go this way. What if something bad happens to
y/n? It will all be my fault.

YOUR POV
The headmaster dragged me to this small room. "What are we doing here?". I asked her. "We're waiting for the King to come talk to you". She said, her back facing me.
I put my head down and quietly said "Will Sunghoon be okay?". She quickly turned her head to me. "Excuse me?" I looked up, seeing her look at me with stern eyes.
"we don't call the royal family by their real names".

We sat there in silence for quite some time. Suddenly the door burst open. I looked up and saw the king. I instantly stood up and bowed. "Leave it". He said. I sat back down and he stood infront of me.
"So you wanna explain what you were doing with my son!?". He asked in an angry tone. "I wasn't doing anything". I said in a quiet voice. "Oh really then why we're you guys gone for 3 hours?".

"I-i". "Why did my son go after a maid like you?". He said, taking a good look at my face as he came closer. I didn't know what to say, so i just kept my head low. "Why would he care about someone like you? You're just a maid". He said with a scoff. He took a step back again and said "from now on i don't you to come in contact with my son anymore. If i see you breaking this rule, there will be consequences for you and my son".

"So its up to you". He said folding his arms. "stay away from him and nothing will happen, or be selfish and making his and your life a living hell". I couldn't look into his eyes. I didn't want him to see the tears that were welling up. He walked out of the room.

THE NEXT DAY
All the maids gathered in the ballroom. Today would be announced who would stand by the prince side. All of the young maids excitedly stood in a line. All of them except for me. I was standing in the back, keeping my head hung low. The royal family walked into the ball room and all of us bowed.

I could feel a pair of eyes on me. I didn't dare to look up. The royal family took place in their big chairs. "Today we will announce who can stand by the prince side on the anniversary day". All the maids tried their best to impress the royal family. After a few minutes of discussing who to pick, the headmaster cleared her voice. "Congrats miss Kim". "Omgomg". Is all i could hear.

She ran up to the king and bowed. "Thank you so much for picking me, i'll make sure to make the prince look good". "You two may now leave the room and get to know each other". I lifted my head up, seeing sunghoon look at me while walking out of the ballroom with miss Kim.

I fixed my gaze back to the King and saw him looking at me with warning eyes. I quickly looked away. "The other maids, don't be disappointed, you'll still be able to attend the event in those beautiful dresses". The headmaster said, trying to cheer the other up. All i could think about was how happy i would be to put on one of those dresses. Sadly i couldn't. After yesterday i wasn't even allowed to attend the event.

I would have to spend my time in the maidsroom, doing god knows what, while the others are having fun. The event will be held tomorrow evening. My thoughts were interrupted by some pushing a box full of ornaments into my arms. "You put these up, since miss kim isn't here".
I sighed and started putting up to last ornaments.

Suddenly i felt someone presence behind me. "Remember what i told you". He said in one ear, but switched to the other and said "no contact". With that he walked away. I put the box down and walked out of the ballroom. I walked out into the garden and went to side where you could look over the city, but stopped in my tracks when i saw something

that made my heart ache
