My alarm went off and I went to the living room to find Arizona still asleep on the couch. I went to the kitchen and made us breakfast. I woke her up and gave her a plate with some waffles on. We ate them and got ready to go to work.

We arrived at the locker room to find our residents waiting for us. They gave us a look and went out telling us they needed to speak with us. We looked at each other worried not knowing what to expect. We searched our residents in the hallway both getting nervous. Our residents looked at us and told us to follow them to the conference room and sit down. They closed the door and sat in frontof us. They looked at each other and then my resident Dr. Becks started talking.

"Dr. Shepherd and Dr. Robbins," she started "we wanted to thank you both for the hard work you delivered yesterday. Their was a lot of chaos and compared to the rest you guys handled it very well. You stayed calm and did exactly what we asked."

"Thank you Dr. Beckx." I said very surprised looking at her and smiling.

We were then told to go check on our patients and run post and pre-op labs on all of their patients. Arizona and I went down together and both checked on our patients. We both ran back and forth to the lab. It took us 2 hours to finish everything, which was just in time for lunch. We went down to the cafetaria and got some food. All the other interns sat at a table in the middle of the cafetaria but we were not in the mood to go sit with them. We went to a table for two on the right and ate. We talked the whole time and laughed so much. I never made such a good friend in such a short period of time. We only knew each for 3 days now and it feels like years. I am so happy we met.

The rest of the day was quite. We both went down to the pit to troll for good cases but the worst that came in was a sprained ankle. We walked through the halls of the hospital looking around to see if there was something to do but no nothing going on. We decided to go back to our lockers and talk some more. After our shift ended we went back to my place and and ordered some pizza. After dinner I put on music and took the tequila out of his hiding place. I took 2 shot glasses and we celebrated our good day.

"Can you believe we were scared of what our residents would say."

"I know right they looked so mad. I never saw it coming." I yelled, trying to get over the loud music.

"We are so badass Amelia."

We danced the whole night living our best life. Arizona stayed the night again but this time she slept next to me in my bed. She made me happy in a way I haven't been in a while. I knew in that moment she was a friend for life.

The next day

Arizona and I woke up really close to each other not being bothered by it. We were really close friends so waking up practically hugging wasn't that big of a deal. We said goodmorning and got up to get breakfast. I went to the fridge only to find it empty. How us it that I had no food in the house. I looked at Arizona and smiled telling her I had just made breakfast plans. We put on some clothes and I took her to the donutshop down the street. We each picked 2 donuts and a coffee. We went to sit down at the window table and ate our breakfast.

We went to the hospital and started out shift. I got to go home after an hour because I was going to cover someone on the night shift the next 2 days. I said goodbye to Arizona and left.

Arizona's POV

I said goodbye to Amelia who taking over the night shift which also meant no more mate nights at the bar the next days. The thought of not being able to see my best friend as much as I used to made me sad. I loved hanging out with Amelia. She made me feel so happy and loved and just really really happy. I was drawn out of my thoughts by my resident telling me to go down to the NICU and to watch over the babies and help the pediatric surgeon out.

When I arrived in the NICU the attending asked me to come over and taking over bagging the baby. His stats dropped and he needed to go to the OR. A nurse called up to let them know we were coming up. We arrived in the OR with no time to scrub. We opened him up and saw that his little lover was bleeding. We stopped the bleeding and brought him back up to the NICU. The rest if the day I monitored the rest of the babies and took some peds trauma cases in the pit. After my shift when I was bout to walk out I saw Amelia entering the locker room looking really tired. I gave her an encouraging hug and went to go get some sleep at home, my day just ended and hers was getting started.
