Another morning waking up next to my girlfriend, Arizona. I turned around to look at her still sleeping very peacefully. I moved closer and placed a soft kiss on her lips. Her eyes started opening and she looked right into my eyes. As soon as she saw me a smile appeared on her perfect face. She put her right hand on my cheek and moved closer to kiss me. I placed my hand on her hips and pulled her on top of me. We stayed in that position kissing passionately before my mom called us from downstairs. We separated, put on some actual clothes other than the underwear we slept in and went downstairs.

"How did you guys sleep?" My mom asked. My mom still didn't know that Arizona and I are now more than just friends and I really want to tell her, I just don't know how.

"Great." I said looking over at Arizona. "Is Derek coming to say goodbye today?" I asked because Arizona and I needed to go back today and I wanted to see him before we left.

"Yes, he should be here in an hour. What time does your plane leave?" She replied putting plates on the table.

"The plane leaves at 3 so that means we leave the house around 1." I said walking over to the fridge and taking out everything we needed to eat breakfast.

We ate our breakfast and when we finished we heard the door open and in walked Derek. I ran over to my big brother and gave him a hug. I took his arm and walked him to the kitchen where mom and Arizona were talking. Derek looked at me with a look of which I knew what he meant and I shoock my head, letting him know he can't talk about Arizona and I. We sat down at the table and all talked about everything and nothing.

After we talked I went upstairs with Arizona and Derek followed shortly after. He knocked on my bedroom door and came in when I said he could. He asked if I was planning on telling mom about Arizona and I's relationship. I told him that I don't know how and that I'm scared for the way she'll react to the news. He told me to just follow my heart and tell her the truth and that she will understand. Then he added that if mom really had trouble with it he would come and talk to her and make sure everything will be fine and back to the way it all was before. I looked at him then at Arizona and stood up to go back downstairs.

"Mom?" I yelled from the end of the stairs. "Where are you?"

"In the kitchen darling." I heard from the other room.

"Mom I need to tell you something, this may surprise you but just know that I am very happy." I started looking at her. "Ok so Arizona is more than just my best friend, she and I are dating. We haven't been for long but she is very special and it feels really good between us."

"Ow Amelia, I am so happy for you." She came over to me and gave me a big hug. We separated and looked into each other's eyes. I could see it on the look on her face that she was proud of me and that she was happy I told her.

I went back to my room and heard Arizona and Derek talk. I went closer and heard them laugh. I walked in my room and they looked like they were having a great conversation. I am so happy they liked each other and that Derek didn't hate the fact that she is my girlfriend.

When they noticed me they both looked at me and waited for me to tell them how it went. I told them that everything was ok and that mom is very proud of me and happy I told her. Derek stood up from the bed, walked over to me and gave me a hug.  He backed off and told me he was proud of me before leaving my room to let Arizona and I finish packing our backs. Derek was waiting for us downstairs, he wanted to bring us to the airport. Arizona and I finally finished getting ready and went downstairs. We said goodbye to my mom and stepped in Derek's car. The drive to the airport was a short one and soon enough we were back in my apartment.

The evening was nearing and neither of us was in the mood to cook so we just ordered some pizza and waited in the kitchen for it to arrive. About 30 minutes later we had our food and ate it in front of the TV. We were both tired so after dinner we went straight to bed. We said goodnight and turned around to lay comfortably in my bed.
