Super Star

[Name] is a mess. Her reaction to finding her soulmate isn't a typical one. She heaves over her bathroom toilet bowl, expelling anything that will come up. The memory of him lingers in her mind as the stars still blur her vision.

She spits in the toilet, doing a final flush.

"Him," [Name] says as if she's spitting the word right out of her mouth. "Why him?!"

She speaks to no one but the universe. It doesn't reply back, only plagues her mind of the man she ran into just an hour ago.

On weak legs, she pushes herself up with the help of the counter. She turns on the faucet, cups some cold water into her mouth, and gargles. With a final spit, she turns it off.

"Who even is he?" [Name] speaks again to the universe. She goes to search him up but doesn't have any way of finding out who he is. No name, no address, no picture of him. Just a description of black hair and even darker eyes--as if there isn't a bunch of men with that description. "Just... Tell me who he is so I can avoid him at all costs."

Fate has a funny way of doing things. Now that [Name] has met her soulmate, clues just seem to drop right out of the sky. For example, the moment [Name] opens her laptop, a news site pops up. The breaking news states:

Itachi Uchiha, Konoha's most famous pianist, creates a new song that his girlfriend charmingly calls 'Happy Frog.'

Below the headline sits a picture of the man she met an hour ago.

She licks her lips. Her heart flutters as her eyes focus solely on him. She falls into some sort of trance as the stars once again cloud her vision.

The laptop slams closed. [Name] forces herself out of that trance, closing her eyes and pushing all thoughts of him to the outskirts of her mind. On top of being handsome, Itachi is also famous. There's no way an ordinary middle-class person could be with him. Once again, [Name] thinks the universe is cruel.

Not only is he from a prestigious family, born into wealth and looks, like everyone knows the Uchihas! She thinks, wracking her brain as to why he of all people would be the one. Everyone wants the Uchihas! There's no way I could be with him! Plus, plus...

"He has a girlfriend," [Name] mumbles to herself, and a minuscule part of her dies. She opens the laptop again and stares at the girl standing and smiling next to Itachi. She recognizes her. The girl that gave [Name] the blouse for her date with Neji. She slams the laptop closed for a second time.

"If he has a girlfriend, then how is he my soulmate?!" [Name] pours out her concerns to the universe but is only left with its cold indifference. "How is he... How am I... How are we supposed to be together?"

Tears fill [Name's] eyes as her mind clouds with Itachi. The universe is cruel indeed, and there's only one person [Name] unloads all her fears on.

Her mom.

[Name] finds her phone among the pile on her desk. In an instant, she dials her mother's number. With a few rings, her mom answers with a cheery, "Hello?"

However, [Name] cannot match the happy tone and instead brings in the gloom with, "Mom, I have something awful to tell you."

"Oh honey, what is--"

"I met my soulmate!" She wails, only for her mom to answer with shocked silence.

"Sweetheart," her mom says cautiously. "That doesn't sound bad. Unless he's like a criminal."

[Name] scoffs. "Quite the opposite, really. He's super famous and probably wants nothing to do with me, which is fine since I want nothing to do with him."
