Izumi stands at the stove, cooking for the both of them. Itachi, silent for hours, sits in his chair, staring blankly at sheet music. She worries for him.

He's been in a daze since he told her about the woman with stars in her eyes. Typically, he'd hum out the notes scribbled on the sheet music, and yet, only the sound of a sizzling pan rings in her ears.

Izumi clears her throat. "So, anything else exciting happen today?"

Silence. And it was deafening.

"Itachi?" She turns to him, hand still on the handle of the pan. She sees him snap out of his stupor.

"Oh, uh," he says, tidying up his music. "No. Nothing else. How was your day, sweetheart?"

She smiles. "I was just setting up for a video. My followers wanted to watch me play some games. Maybe we could--"

Before she could invite Itachi, he declines. "I'm sorry, Izumi, I can't. My father wants me to help plan a banquet with him. Sasuke's hoping to find a career in music like me, and mom wants to spend some time with me. I'm really sorry."

Izumi hides her hurt. "Ah. Another time then."

Turning away from him, she focuses on cooking the last of the chopped steak for their steak fried rice. She plates their food, placing a plate in front of him and then sitting next to him.

Itachi looks at his food. He grimaces. "Izumi, I don't want to complain, but you know I hate steak."

Izumi peers up at him with wide eyes. "Oh! It completely slipped my mind. I'll make you some chicken instead."

Itachi shakes his head. "No, it's fine. I'll just eat the rice and give you the steak."

He takes his chopsticks and piles on the steak on Izumi's plate. She watches in guilty silence. Something so simple as disliking steak she cannot remember about him. For a second, she wonders if that star-eyed woman would remember he hates steak, or would it possibly slip her mind just like it did hers. Izumi forms an excuse as the fault bubbles in her stomach.

"It was on sale," she speaks softly, meekly. "So I bought it without thinking."

"It's fine."

Their dinner continues in silence.

...

The morning is just as silent as last night. Itachi wakes in his room alone. Last night, Izumi decided to sleep on her side of the house. So, Itachi slept alone.

Thankfully too, since last night, his dreams featured the star-eyed woman from the other day. He spoke in his sleep, wanting to know her name, yet all she did was smile at him. He wanted to hold her hand and kiss her, but she moved away from him. Too shy, too scared to be near him.

So as he woke, he woke with a heavy heart.

But within minutes, that dream whisks away in the back of his mind forever. The thought of stars remains, however.

Itachi's schedule is full. Like he told Izumi last night, he must go to his parent's house and meet Sasuke, and after that, he'll traverse the shopping district with his mother. As he readies, grabbing his keys, he thinks of the woman.

He thinks of her hair.

He thinks of her skin as he walks down the stairs.

He thinks of her touch as he slips on his shoes at the door.

He thinks of her voice as he says goodbye to Izumi.

He wonders if he'll see her again.

He hopes to see her again.
