When the time comes for them to meet, Itachi sits at the back of a local coffee shop, two orders of coffee on the table. The atmosphere has a homey feeling to it, but it's still lively and fast-paced. The walls are painted a rustic brown, their chairs and bar stools colored pastel green to match the decor of hanging plants and yellow lighting. The tables switch between round for single sitters with their laptops, working remotely or constructing a project, and square tables for the booths at which Itachi sits. It's a place for relaxation, a location he thinks Twinkles will like.

He checks his watch. His fingers idly tap on the tabletop.

Some people seem to recognize Itachi. He sees it when their eyes light up upon gazing upon his figure. However, they don't approach, respecting him and his space, for he looks a bit impatient today.

It hits three o'clock, and as the time ticks by, Itachi checks his watch again.

A sparkling hope gleams like gold in his chest, wishing she'll come. It's a feeling he's lost over the years dating the same person. This giddiness that bubbles in his stomach holds a similar sensation he felt when he first took Izumi out on a date. But this time, it has increased tenfold. He has to subdue a smile at the thought of Twinkles bursting through the door just as happy to see him.

It's unfortunate that he didn't get her name.

The first coffee---his coffee---is empty. Him having a sweet tooth, he asked for extra creamer and sugar, even going so far as to add in more once he received it.

The second coffee is for her. He didn't know what she'd like, so a simple latte was all he ordered. But as the seconds turn into minutes, it sits there, becoming lukewarm.

Itachi checks his phone, returning to their conversation. He sees his last message was read but not responded to, and he sighs.

The man knows when to call it quits, and as the clock strikes four, he understands he's been fully stood up. He drinks the other coffee as he types, hating how the bitter aftertaste lingers more than usual.

So I figure you're not
coming huh?
My mistake. I should've gotten
your name first.

The read receipts show that she sees his messages immediately as if she's been waiting for him to text her.

I don't wanna tell you
my name

Why not? I want to talk to you

Well I don't want to talk to you :/

I need to know why you
called me your soulmate.
Why won't you talk to me?
Am I your soulmate or not?!

There's a pause and dots at the bottom of his screen. They appear and disappear. Then there's nothing. No response. Just a mocking 'Read at 4:13 pm' at the bottom of his screen.

Itachi senses the frustration pulsing in his brain, his heart racing due to the two cups of coffee. He wants to scream in annoyance, wondering why this woman, who so claims to be his soulmate, won't meet with him.

So I'm not your soulmate, then.

She reads the message. The dots at the bottom disappear. It's disappointing. That gleaming feeling in his heart dusts over and dulls the shine.

Itachi has never been stood up before. The uncertainty, the anger, and the embarrassment of sitting single and drinking two cups of coffee. It's obvious he's waiting for someone when he checks his watch every five minutes and stares impatiently at the door.
