String of Fate [oc x kurapika]

Reiko sat with her knees to her chest under the stable part of a crumbling building. The raindrops splashed onto the ground right in front of her feet as she zoned out. She had run at least a few miles before the rain started coming down hard enough for her to take shelter. She twirled the red string around her pinky finger and let it unwind. It had always been there, but she hadn't known what it was and why she couldn't take it off. She asked Chrollo about it and he told her it connected her to her "soulmate." She'd never heard that word before, but she soon found out that it was the person she was destined to be with. The person that would finally make her happy. She would think about them whenever she was bored. What do they look like? What is their personality like? I hope they're not another filthy criminal.  She kept thinking about her soulmate as she slowly drifted to sleep, still slightly shaking from the cold rain pouring down right next to her.

Her eyelids fluttered open as she was awoken by someone's voice in the distance. Oh god please don't let it be him. She sat up as she realized something, she wasn't in the building anymore. Rei surveyed her surroundings. She was on the roof of a building? What? How did I get here? It was dark out, but the bright lights of the city illuminated the rooftop very well. She stood up to find herself in a beautiful dress that ended just above her knees. It was a deep, scarlet red with black lace on the neckline, and a black ribbon on her waist. She also had on black thigh high socks and a pair of cute black mary jane shoes. When did I-? "Finally, you're here." Huh? She turned to see a nicely dressed boy standing by the edge of the roof, leaning on the ledge. He looked about her age, with beautiful blonde hair that just barely brushed against his shoulders. She couldn't see his face but he was wearing a black suit with a deep scarlet button-up shirt underneath. Rei also noticed something else quite interesting.

Her string ended right at his pinky finger.
