"Letto holy hail of mary sweet Jesus!....you...you...you're so Woah" I couldn't stop staring at him. He smiled and laughed. Jerk.
"Yes B it's me...I turned Woah" he said with his hands doing spirit fingers.
"How'd you find me? I mean how'd you come all the way out here?" I asked.
"Well I didn't plan on coming here at all actually. My father past away recently, well my real father not the one you knew. I had to take over his place here, none of my brothers wanted to. You know how they are." Oh shoot I forgot his father died.
"My deepest condolences Letto, when is the funeral?"
"It's this Saturday. I need to discuss my fathers behalf on the company to the staff and my upcoming position to be here throughout this year until I have my own heir"
"Oh aww so you're going to be here a long time then?"
"Well I just did say I need an heir" he laughed.
I couldn't help but wonder what happened to him after I left Hawaii.
"Funny. Okay so what did you want to discuss with me while we're in my office?"
"Oh shoot I almost forgot what I had to discuss, besides revealing myself....I wanted to talk to you about your job, you miss Tauti is going to move up to an executive position. I fired the Vice President of Marketing and I need your skills and your connections to bump up the marketing in our company."
No fricken way, okay this has to be a dream. "But...but".
"No buts, and No isn't an answer I will take. B please I've known you since you moved next door to me in Hawaii and I know you got the perfect position because I looked at your file on behalf of my right of being the CEO and because I just wanted to see my old neighborhood friend" he ended with a chuckle.
"Okay okay. Does this mean a bigger raise?" I said mischievously.
"Yes ma'am" he said with a salute.
Before I could say anything Letto said "I have your phone number, I will text you later to catch up with you. But for now my presence is needed somewhere else." He kissed the back of my hand in a charming way as he always did before. "Good Day B" he smiled and exited my office.
I stood their in distraught and blushing by his charming act. Letto fricken Cromwell! He must've changed his last name to his real fathers last name when he found out. I've known that kid since we started intermediate and throughout high school.
I can really rally up all our craziness being that young and inseparable of each other. He was every girls bestfriend you can ever dream of having. Letto wasn't one to judge, he was always their to cheer me up, and was there through all my dramatic Samoan life. At one point I think I actually liked him, but not anymore.
By the time the staff meeting came to be, I walked to the conference ball room with Andy by my side and Madeline. There was a stage and a white screen in the back hanging on the wall with a projector above hanging from the ceiling.
The room got crowded in less than 3 minutes and every worker of the entire company came down, from the truckers to the office employees and to the custodians of this top notch company stood in that very room.
When there was no one coming through the doors anymore everyone stood and talked with each other making a lot of noise.
"Hey B, you okay? You look like your going to faint" Andy said giving me a worried look.
