I gotta say being a mother at a young age is a lot of work. Your whole time and attention is focused on a little heartbeat, a tiny person that looks up to you and needs a lot of things. This is good, to have a baby in your 20's, it's also a good age to settle down or find someone, but settling down right now just doesn't seem to fit in my life at the moment or at all.
Arian and I heading to his appointment, his pediatrician Dr.Rosewell is such a nice lady. If she's on her good days, she's nice and sweet. After Arians appointment letto called to meet him at my house, taking his car and going around for a drive with Arian. He wants to treat Arian for ice cream since he promised him.
After all the talk my mom and I did yesterday, I'm just patiently waiting by till the day I meet Keanu face to face. Just imagining meeting him gives me the chills. I have to do what's right, for Arian.
As we wait for letto to arrive, mom was knocked out cold from work. Going into work at 7pm at night and then getting off at 7am in the morning, sometimes she gets off early. After she gets off she comes home and watches Arian while I go work, that's a lot of work. I told her I'd get a babysitter she tells me, don't trust anyone. Some mornings she'll sleep with Arian while he's still asleep.
I gotta hand it to my mom, she had me at a young age and was shunned from her own family for having me at 18 years old. What was wrong with being 18 and pregnant?, it's better than being 16 and under having a baby. Not that it's making this better but my mom has never had any contact with any of her family members, even her own parents. Good thing she had a job and was out of high school by that time. The only family related person that stood by her side was nonetheless her little sister, my one and only aunt Nina.
She's still back in Hawaii but I miss her dearly, she kept secrets from my mom like my first time drinking alcohol. Eventually my mom found out and gave me that angry/disappointed look and I got spanking after that. I wasn't one to get angry at her for doing that, I mean I was hurt but I understood.
My mom never really lived up to the Faa Samoa "Samoan Way" life. Less Fa'alavelaves (Problems/situations) and less family drama she liked to keep it that way. When she was pregnant with me, she still went to nursing school and got her certificate. I'm proud to call her my mom, best friend, provider, comforter, and mainly the reason I'm alive today.
Letto arrived with some food for mom when she wakes up. He was real sweet even after two years of not seeing each other, we went right back to where we left or where I left.
Arian was jumping up with joy as he saw Letto walk through the front door. He ran to letto and hugged his leg.
"Hey buddy" Letto smiled looking down at Arian.
"Dah-Dy" Whoops! What the what?!. Letto and I locked eyes. This is too early for Arian to say daddy, and he's so not his dad.
"Oh umh, well this is awkward." Letto said pursing his lips. He picked up Arian and carried him in his arms.
"Yeah I think I know where he gets it from." His finger family song!. I looked at him like 'don't even ask'. I left a note on the fridge for my mom that we left some food for her, we're going out and that she haves a good night at work.
I strapped Arian into his car seat while letto went to the back of his car getting something. He has a pretty awesome car, the kind I want when I have a big family. I was totally jealous he pulled up with a 2016 Cadillac Escalade like its nothing, it's a fricken luxury car!. Anyways I'll have to ask him one day if I can take out for a drive.
