"So what should we order?" He promptly says looking at the menu.
"I'm not hungry, just coffee will be fine." I said, He closed the menu. At the same time a waiter came to our table.
"Hello and thank you for joining us this afternoon, we have a special for lunch..." I interrupted the waiter, "Just a coffee for me please if not please a sweet iced tea with lemon, thank you." He wrote down my order.
Keanu smiled at me then at the waiter, "Make that two coffees, if not hot tea for me. Thank you." I can tell the waiter was annoyed but us two.
"Would that be all?" He smiles at us.
Keanu spoke up, "Yes that will be all, thank you." The waiter walked away for our order.
I spoke up this time, "So Keanu I-" he didn't let me finish.
"No wait I wanna first of all say thank you for agreeing to join me for lunch Bonnie, I appreciate it. Despite our past...."he looked a bit nervous. "I know I haven't given you any reason to give me a chance to talk to you, and to see you again. Thank you."
I couldn't take this, I can't take this polite side of him. "Enough with the thank yous Keanu....look I agreed because well...umm I have some things I want to say to you." He looked amused.
"I have some things I have to say as well." He said. "But before you say what you have to say let me say what I have to say and that is that you are looking very beautiful Bonnie." My stomach did two backflips and my heart fluttered with gazillions of mini hearts inside and jumped on big squishy marshmallows.
"Thank you I knew that already, but don't you have a fiancée to say that too instead of me?." He sat back on his chair with a smirk on his face.
"Aaah so you know I have a fiancée even when I didn't tell you." His hands propped on the arms of the chair.
"Noo, I see that you are wearing a very beautiful wedding ring and I didn't see on the news of a Mr and Mrs.Kāhele Big Wedding Day." He chuckled.
"So you're very observant huh?"
"Yes I've grown quite observant the past years, I guess not going to college and just learning by seeing has kept me in a good path towards my career life." His eyes fixated into mine. The same time the waiter came with our two cups of coffee. "Thank you" we both said in unison.
"So I see that you and Letto have reunited at last." He sipped his coffee.
"Yes that douche and I finally reunited." I shook my head smiling.
"The douche and I had fun in college, your douche knocked up so many girls I lost count." He laughed.
"Yup he told me all of it, which was just too much information." Thinking of that night I went over to lettos house.
There was silence between us, " He had to find you Bonnie, but then a lot of things happened on his last year." He never mentioned. "Well I'm glad he found you B."
"Yeah I'm glad he found me too." I can just feel the other question coming very soon.
"Why did you leave Hawaii?" There you go! The question I've been waiting for. "I mean you were gonna go to UH that's where you've always wanted to go to with Letto after you graduated high school and then I heard you moved away."
"Just....just some um things happened, like my mom got a very good job offer here at this hospital and living here was more affordable than in Hawaii." His eyes never looking away from me. "I dropped out of college when I moved because tuition was high at ODU even with the help of the scholarships I got and the financial aid, I still couldn't pay it."
