    "L-leukemia??"

"Yup, Acute Leukemia to be exact. In acute leukemia, the abnormal blood cells are immature blood cells. They can't carry out their normal work, and they multiply rapidly, so the disease worsens quickly. Acute leukemia requires aggressive, timely treatment," the doctor says looking at his clipboard.

"Oh no that's terrible!" Eve says covering her mouth. "I need to see her!"

"I'm afraid you can't. We put general anesthesia in her so you can't wake her up. Right now she's being monitored by screens so we can take a deeper look at her. Right now you should go. There's nothing you can do now."

Eve wipes a tear from her eye, "O-okay..." She runs out of the hospital and waits for a bus. When one comes, she hopes it's CJ but it's not. Just some fat dude.

    "To Anderson Hills Highschool please..."

She sits down and cries in her hands. "W-will she die? No! No! Stop thinking negative thoughts Eve! That'll just make things worse!"

Swirling thoughts take over her mind until the bus hits the brakes at the destination. Eve comes out the bus and sits at the front stairs and starts to cry again. Matthew sees her and walks over to her, "Um...do you mind..." Eve just looks away. Matthew sits next to her anyway.

"Look I'm sorry about earlier I-"

    "It's okay Matthew..."

"No. No it's not okay. I felt really bad. I should've cared more and showed more feeling."

The wind blows hard causing Eve's hair tie to give out and let all her blonde hair loose.

"What are you looking at?" Eve says.

"U-um nothing. Nothing," Matthew says looking away quickly like nothing happened.

Eve's car comes and she stands up.

"Oh. And your sister has leukemia, just to let you know. Not that you care anyway." She starts to walk inside the car, leaving Matthew smelling the car smoke from behind.

"Eve? Why are you so dirty? Care to explain anything?" Her dad asks.

"U-um...I tripped when I came out here," she lies.

He chuckles, "Well be careful next time. How was the dance?"

Eve looks out the window, "It was something alright."
