Epilogue

The police went in and dismantled the detective from the criminal.

They saw his shirt had been torn open and Mew had his shoulder bleeding. That's where the blood was coming from.

Kanawut had no blood even though his shirt was open.

The captain rushed in and took over. He was relieved at seeing Kanawut in one piece.

He had been wearing a bullet proof but with the bullets that rained on him he was surely going to bruise. The ambulance was called for both the detective and Mew.

They were rushed to the hospital and Mew went straight in the operation room, police men standing guard at the door.

The captain was bothered. He hadn't given order to fire because they had not figured out the status inside. But the endless gunfire had gone nonetheless.

He was even more bothered by the fact that Kanawut was shot that many times even though he was wearing a bulletproof.

The captain received a phone call from Mike who was curious about Kanawut's state after watching the news. He told the captain what he told Kanawut and his suspicions. He asked him to trust no one and protect Kanawut because Wes was suspicious.

So when Wes asked to be stationed at the hospital, the captain insisted that Wes stay behind whilst he went to the hospital.

Kanawut woke up about 5 hours later and the captain was there sleeping by his side on the small chair.

Kanawut shook the captain's arm weakly feeling like his back had been prickled.

When the captain woke up seeing Kanawut awake he sighed relieved.

Kanawut told the captain what Mew told him and how they had been played.

The captain called the people responsible for the Lin's witness protection and they were told Wes had come to get Lin a few hours ago.

The Chief knew he was going to get in trouble for this but Kanawut begged him to protect Mew just like how he had protected him. He begged his captain to right all wrongs. 

There was only one option for this mess.

The media.

The captain leaked the story to the media and that's how he had gotten Wes and Lin on the radar.

The public was pissed at learning the truth. How the police planned to make an innocent citizen a psychopath. The public became determined to find the rogue detective and his friend.

The police became even more alert and took the case serious, no one was playing around.

A day later, Kanawut went to see Mew. He sat by his bedside watching him. He wondered why he had done what he did. He must've been terrified seeing his face on the tv being portrayed a serial killer. The guilt hit him so much he felt bad.

It was when he was getting up to leave that his shirt was weakly tugged, he saw Mew struggling to open his eyes and sat back down on the chair,

"Sleep some more" he whispered gently rubbing Mew's face.

Mew shook his head weakly, eyes still refusing to open fully.

"Thank you for being alive." He struggled to say and all Kanawut could do was tear up. How could a person go to such lengths to protect him.

"Thank you so much for saving me," Kanawut said placing his head on Mew's arm and the sobs let through. He was grateful.

The captain visited Kanawut that afternoon,

"So what do you think is going to happen next?"

"I don't think it's going to end like this," Kanawut started, "I have a feeling they're not going to stop until Mew and I are dead. They have people everywhere so my guess is they're watching us. We should always be alert because they might come here. If we had been the pending case then it's not over until the case is closed."

They discussed some more on the protection measures for the two and the captain left after reducing the police guarding the doors in Mew's And Kanawut's rooms.

Night time came, the doctors came for their checkup at 7pm. Then about thirty minutes later, Kanawut was about to sleep when he heard a startling sound and a thud.

He knew someone was here. Someone he was expecting to see.  However, he didn't move an inch when the door opened and the foot steps quietly approached sneaking in. It was when he heard the person stop that he got his electrical gun and shot without thinking twice.

Lin fell down shaking tremendously with shock.

Kanawut got his radio frequency and alerted them that Lin was down.

In the other room, Wes had sneaked in to finish the patient on the bed but he was oblivious to the taser slowly sticking out from the bottom  half of the bed. Before he could strike, the taser got to him first and he fell down shaking with electricity.

Just like that, Wes and Lin were caught and Mew and Kanawut survived.

During that week, the precinct worked hard on  chasing down the people in the last folder wanting to end whatever organization Lin had running.

Kanawut went home after a tiresome day. Now that Wes was arrested he had a pile of work waiting for him. As soon as he got there he saw Mew in the kitchen shirtless, with a bandage still on his shoulder going through his chest.

"How am I supposed to hold myself when I get home to this?" He said gently embracing Mew in a warm hug, "you're so warm."

"Mhmm," Mew replied using his functioning hand to hug Kanawut back. "I missed you," he said smelling Kanawut's neck.

Kanawut bared his neck to accommodate Mew's kisses,

"Can we do it today?"

"I won't be able to help much though,"

"You just have to be laying there, I'll do the rest,"

"Lead the way" Mew said smiling.

Kanawut did lead the way.

But he didn't see Mew's smiling face disappear.

Mew stared at Kanawut's back as he slowly walked behind him face devoid any emotion thinking hard.

Thinking how he would do anything to protect him.

Anything at all.

It was quite a journey.

A journey he was proud to be part of.

This story was not supposed to be this long. It was supposed to have 10 chapter with a simple story line but then I read your comments and they challenged me to keep on twisting the story until we got to 21 chapters.

I think  the story turned out better than expected and I hope you think so too.
