ep. 07

"Oi ! Seori !"

Riki was wearing a different colour shirt today. He had his black hoodie tied around his waist. Thanks to Seori he didn't wear dark coloured shirts or hoodies anymore. School just ended and they both walked out of the classroom.  "Don't you have archery practice ?" Seori gasped after she remembered.

"Nope. The whole week is off curricular activities, remember ?" Seoul then laughed with Riki after remembering that. There was a group of people cheering and cooing at the two who were walking down the hallway.

"Are you two perhaps going out ?"

Loud cheers could be heard when Riki was now red like a tomato and Seori was dying from laughing out loud. "NOOOOOOO" They were all laughing, clearly just joking around. "Very well, have fun !" Kila shouted as she joined her other friends.

To be accurate, Riki and Seori were friends looking for a letter to find Yang Jungwon.

Seori apologized to Riki, still laughing. "Ah seriously. I shouldn't have come to your class. Now they think we're going out." He said, covering his face. "Nah, they just saw us together today so they must have been curious. I'm grateful you came because I didn't know what class you were in either."

"I though Jungwon is really dumb for doing this in the first place yet here I am, not being able to sleep because we are going to find the rest of the letters today." Riki laughed, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he walked backwards. "I know right ! When I first found the first one-" Seori continued.

Those were just sparks of their conversations. Seori noticed that Riki looked a lot happier and not that dull expression she had been seeing since the first time they met.

Seori read the sixth letter they got to see where the next one was. "He said the next one was under a rock near the campsite where you used to run away from." Riki got chills and dropped his bag, jaw almost dropping as they were standing on the bridge of the location. Seori looked at Riki all confused and they were both staring at the pond beneath them.

"Before you t-transferred, they made this place into a pond since it was burned down-" Seori cut him off with a question. "So the letter is underwater ?" Riki nodded as he closed his eyes, not noticing that Seori was already stretching her body. "I bet Jungwon didn't even see this coming."

As he opened his eyes, he saw that Seori was stretching her body left and right. "What are you doing ?" he asked, frowning his eyebrows. "Stretching ! Let's find the letter !" Riki swore under his breath after remembering his words from the last time. He really jinxed himself.

The boy turned around, annoyed. What could possibly the girl ask for next ? To dive in a pool to find the next letter ? Hell nah he was helping.

Yet here he was.

They took off their shoes, ties, name tags and socks. Riki left his hoodie out to cover their things so it wouldn't get wet. They dived in and started looking for the letter. A minute passed by and they went up for air. "Nothing." Seori sighed out, breathing heavily. Riki laughed out loud and removed a lotus leaf that was stuck on Seori's head.

The girl shoved the leaf away, relaxing a bit before they nodded and agreed to find the next letter under rocks. They went down once again and split up. Riki found the letter and tapped on Seori's shoulder, waving the envelope up. They got out and yelled in sync to celebrate.

Mrs Song was laughing and tried to dry the letter they brought to her. "So you went diving in this cold weather to find the letter but now it's ruined." The two were sitting next to each other, still soaking wet with their belongings in their backpacks in the corner. They were both bundled up with blankets as Mrs Song poured them hot tea, continuing to give them a scolding.

"I know winter just ended but you'll still catch a cold !" The two just drank their cup after pouting and sighing at the same time. "The envelope was sealed well but unfortunately the whole thing was wet." Mrs Song smiled before going to Seori. "Give me the letter, I'll try something."

Riki and Seori looked at each other confused before handing the letter. Mrs Song was boiling some water until there was nothing left, gas filling up the teapot. She then poured it on the letter, magically making it the water evaporate, the ink was bold again and it overall made it look new and readable.

Seori gasped while Riki laughed out loud. I haven't seen this in a while since Jungwon emigrated. Seori clapped her hand fast and loud, giving thumbs up and many compliments to Mrs Song to flatter her. "THANK YOU MRS SONG !!" She stood up and bowed and tried to sit back down when Riki's prankster mode came up, pulling her chair so she would fall to the floor.

He laughed out loud, receiving a harsh beating from Seori as Mrs Song cackled.

"YAHHH !!"

It was tomorrow when Jake was running around the building, trying to find a spot to hide the cheat sheet he got. The first bell rang, the boy cursing under his breath. He looked around to see an old and rusty mailbox. He quickly opened it, shoving the whole thing in before fleeing.

Seori and Riki came by the same spot after school and saw the envelope. They took it out, happy that the eighth letter was so much easier to find. "That was easy." Seori nodded along with Riki as she hugged the letter. Riki sneezed out loud, almost falling as Seori laughed. "Alright then I'll be going to the club meeting. You should too. Let's open it after school on the bus."

"Okay !!" Seori said as they parted ways. But Seori remembered that she didn't choose a club yet so she was free. It hadn't even been 5 minutes since she arrived at Mrs Song''s greenhouse when she decided to take a peek at the envelope.

But what's inside shocked her.

It was not a letter from Jungwon.

Jake was panicking as he opened the envelope to see nothing. Well, not his cheat sheet but Jungwon's actual letter. The eighth letter that is. He held it in his hands, gritting his teeth.

"What the fuck is this ?"

Jake has Jungwon's letter and Seori has his cheat sheet for the exam. What's gonna happen now ? What us Jake possibly gonna do witht he letter ?
