The truth was finally untold.
"Wait so that wasn't Jungwon's letter ?"
Riki asked as he saw Seori running towards him, panting as she stopped and passed the envelope. Seori had texted Riki and they both met in the hallways in school. "I opened the envelope because I had a bad feeling- sorry about that but look. It's a cheat sheet."
Seori said, pointing at the contents that Riki took out of the envelope. The boy frowned and mumbled. "This is for the senior's exam tomorrow." Seori then said in a firm tone. "Let's find the eighth letter and send this to the teacher's lounge." Riki nodded and they both started running to the mailbox.
They had searched around the area too but found nothing. "There's nothing !" Seori was frustrated, switching places with Riki and letting him check inside the mailbox. They were bickering around before stopping to hear a voice behind them.
"Looking for a letter ?"
Riki turned around, clenching his teeth after hearing the familiar voice.
"Because I have it, meaning you have mine."
Jake smirked. "It must have been really important, right ? Because the envelope you probably have is also important to me." Seori stood up to say something but Riki stopped and stood in front of her before the girl could do anything. Seori had a bad feeling.
"Give it back, and I'll hand over the letter."
Seori hesitated to say something but Riki was mad and said in a firm tone. "Oh ? We don't know what you're talking about." Seori looked at the boy. It gave her deja vu. It was as if they were meeting for the first time again. That dull and expressionless look. "Give us back the letter."
Riki was ready to throw a punch if Jake acted up but the other was just standing there with a smirk on his face. "I see you have a new friend. You've changed a lot. Back then you couldn't lie with that face. You would be stuttering."
Jake took a few steps forward, making Riki's left hand automatically try to protect Seori. "Jungwon wrote that letter, didn't he ? Seriously, what's wrong with you two ?" Seori noticed it. The fear Riki had in his eyes. It was too intense. Jake was clearly trying to make him break down.
"That letter means a lot to both of us. Give it back, please." Riki still hadn't let his guard down, insisting with a slightly louder voice. Jake just laughed, pulling his hands out from his pockets and crossing them. "Yeah, I guessed so. I read it." Riki was drenched in cold sweat.
"It even had an address. A place for you to reply."
Seori clenched her fists. This guy was getting on her nerves really. "Didn't you guys always hang out everyday ? He didn't even leave you with his new address ? How sad. Right." Jake then said as if he remembered something.
"He didn't even say goodbye. How sad, really. Must have cried for a whole week didn't you ? You're still weak though, Riki. You thought you were finally close with a friend but found out that you two never had the same thought ? Guess Jungwon was just using you since he was just like you.
