Aizawa had left the meeting with his mind in shambles. He needed to clear his head, so he walked through the City, preparing himself to face Inko. The streets are the most isolated of public places. Every person he walked past was too involved in their thoughts to even look at him. It was perfect. Aizawa walked silently through the bustling streets tall buildings in a grid lined the roads around him. Obnoxious high-rises blurred by the pollution filled sky. Vehicles rushed between the red traffic lights, stubbornly shining in the shade.

By the time he found himself outside the Midoriya's apartment complex, his head was clear. He decided not to worry himself with Nezu's plans for his problem child, instead focusing on the task at hand, talking to the kid's mother. He made his way up the stairs and found himself at her door. He sighed and knocked.

It didn't take long for Inko to answer the door, but she didn't look how Aizawa had expected. Aizawa assumed it would be the same as the last few times he had spoken to her, red eyes, messy hair, and with pain written across her face. Instead, she was calm, her face was dry, and her hair immaculate. She didn't look tired or worn down. It was the healthiest he had ever seen her.

"Aizawa, come in." She gestured inside, and he followed. Still stunned to silence.

"Inko-" He looked around their dinky little apartment, trying to find something to set his eyes on, "What is going on with the two of you?"

Inko sighed and took a seat at the table, "It's hard to explain."

Aizawa sat down in front of her, looking for a hint as to what was going on. "Well, Inko, I don't know about you, but I know Izuku can't handle any more of.." he looked at her and sighed, "this."

He could see Inko clench her fists and try to steady her breathing. "Aizawa, I have messed up in my life. I have done things that have hurt my child to the point where he will never be the same. And I do regret that, but I didn't cause this. That was the.." she paused, cutting herself off before she could say the wrong thing, "That was the person that took him from me."

"Inko. I'm not here to blame you for the kid's problems. I still don't know what happened for the first three years of his capture. I am here to tell you that your CHILD needs a parent." he grit his teeth. He had respected Inko, but her attitude was pissing him off, "And if you can't be bothered to try, to try and care for that boy. I will find someone who will."

"Aizawa, he stopped being a child the second he KILLED PEOPLE!"

He snapped. Every time Inko spoke, he got angrier. "Izuku is a child. He is 14 years old! Yes, he has done bad things, but he had been forced into it, Inko! Your child needs help. He needs his mother so, you need to open your damn eyes and see that!" He sighed with frustration. "I told him to stay with the Bakugo's for a few days. When he comes back, you need to talk to him. You need to listen to him."

And with that, he was out of his chair and heading out the door.

He felt bad. Sure, but Inko needed to pull her head out of her ass. Not everything was about her, and right now, Izuku needed someone that cared.

He needed a nap.

Aizawa just wanted to help the Midoriya's, but they weren't making it easy for him. Damn problem child and Problem mother.

Izuku was tired. He was glad that Aizawa had spoken to his mother for him, but it didn't help. Things went back to how they were before Aizawa came into his life. His home was empty. He rarely saw Inko around the house. And when he did, she refused to look at him. It was better like this; he tried to assure himself. But it left a hole in his heart. One that he tried to fill with patrols and training. He couldn't fault his mother. They just brought out the very worst in each other.

He had told Aizawa that things had gotten better. He was too good at lying to his teacher. Izuku's heart burned with his failure. He had started all of this. It wasn't his mother's fault, not really. She was only trying to help him when she sent him away. She had done everything to make his life better, and he had thrown it back at her in the worst way possible.
