Sorry, but another panic attack in this chapter :/
Once they made eye contact a part of Oikawa felt....complete. He felt his eyes tear up and saw the shorter one smile wide. All of his bad days that had been heading to his spiraling seemed to matter nothing to him anymore and he smiled back.
The two teams practically felt the mood shifts between the two newly-found soulmates and decided to give them some space while the gym was getting set up. They just stood and stared at each other for a bit before Oikawa decided to take a few steps towards him.
Hinata just stared at him in awe. He couldn't believe that one of the worst days he's had just did a 360 to be one of the best days he'll remember for the rest of his life. He could see his soulmate hesitating a bit and he walked slowly to lessen their distance and hugged him.
"I hope I'm not being too forward" Hinata laughs nervously.
Oikawa hugged him back instantly.
"I finally found you." Oikawa holds back a sob and just holds onto him tightly. Both of their soulmate marks stopped stinging and just warmed up a bit. Hinata nodded and wrapped his arms
"That's a relief, the mark was starting to bother me." Hinata laughed. They both pulled away from each other and smiled.
"I'm Shoyo Hinata!" Hinata beamed. Oikawa blushed a bit before he introduced himself.
"I'm Tooru Oikawa." He smiled back at Hinata. They both smiled at each other again.
"I-" Oikawa began but got cut off by Karasuno's coach for them to get inside as the game was about to start.
"We'll meet up after the game okay?" Hinata nods and heads off to his team. Oikawa winks back at him as he heads off to his side of the net. Hinata blushes at this and starts fiddling his fingers trying to focus on what his coach was saying.
Besides the fact that he's extremely flustered at the moment, Kageyama glaring at him isn't helping him focus either.
Ukai clapped his hands together and everyone put their hands in the middle of the circle and yelled "Karasunoooo Fight!".
Kageyama pulled Hinata aside, quite harshly, and started whisper yelling at him.
"Of all the fucking people it could be it just had to be fucking Tooru Oikawa, my adversary, seriously!?" Kageyama glared at him. Hinata just stood there dumbfounded. He understands that Kageyama doesn't like Oikawa, but it's not like he chose who his soulmate was or anything.
"Kageyama it's not like I chose him out of spite, hell, I didn't choose him at all, but he's my soulmate and that's just how it happened, don't take it so personally!" Hinata glared back at him.
"My day up until now was actually terrible so I suggest you don't fucking test me Kageyama." This surprised Kageyama and he took a step back to look at Hinata's expression. Seeing Hinata glare at *anyone* was a very rare sight.
A few people noticed that the "power duo" wasn't warming up yet and gawked at Hinata's expression. No one on the team had really seen this side of Hinata before and was slightly concerned. Some, on the other hand, were quietly cheering him on.
"Put the king in his place." Tsukishima snickered before he got smacked on the back from Sugawara.
"Don't encourage him!" Suga whisper-yelled to Tsukishima.
Asahi was slightly panicking for the two first-years, hoping a fight wasn't going to break out.
"How the hell would we know if you're having a bad day if you won't tell us!? We are your team, teammates talk to each other!" Kageyama huffed and Hinata let out a laugh, losing his temper.
"That's real funny hearing those words come out from the King of the Court himself!" Hinata stopped himself. Kageyama stared at Hinata in disbelief.
"Wait- no Kageyama, I'm sorry!"
By now, both teams had their eyes on the two Karasuno members having a staredown. Kageyama practically seething with anger walked over to Hinata, planning to slap him.
But, as he raised his hand Daichi grabbed his wrist.
"We do NOT slap other teammates, especially at a practice game Kageyama."
Hinata stared at him with wide eyes, his vision blurring a bit as he falls to the ground trembling. Kageyama was about to slap him, fucking slap him. Sure, he never was abused or anything like that, but he used to get bullied for his height in middle school and people used to beat him up. And Kageyama just brought all of that back.
Oikawa stared at the situation and realized that his soulmate was in the starting phases of a panic attack and told Iwaizumi to keep the team under control
He rushes over since no one on Hinata's team seems to know how to deal with a panic attack. He sits in front of him without contact.
"Hinata, it's me Tooru alright? I know it's probably hard to hear me right now, but what's happening around you, I don't want you to think about that okay? Just focus on my breathing, can I touch your hand?" After receiving a slight nod, he lets Hinata know which hand he's going to grab and slowly puts it on his chest.
"Try and match my breathing alright? I know it's hard, but you'll be okay soon okay?" Hinata's eyes, which were unfocused before, were slowly coming back in focus and his breathing slowed down. He collapsed onto Oikawa after that, exhausted.
Oikawa picked him up bridal style and glared at Kageyama.
"I don't even know why he was apologizing to you, what the hell is wrong with you?" Kageyama stared at Hinata with a horrid expression.
"I-"
"I caused that-" Kageyama backed away on the verge of tears. He had never seen Hinata in such a state before, especially because of him.Iwaizumi gave up his post and came over to Kageyama.
"Hey, don't focus on that right now, Oikawa do me a favor and shut up for a second."
Iwaizumi whispered something in Kageyama's ear and led him outside. Oikawa stared at his friend in complete shock. He turned his attention back to his soulmate and decided to ask him about it later.
Hinata was looking up at him tiredly.
"Can I go home now?" Hinata whispered. Oikawa nodded and turned to his coach. His coach gave him a nod with a smile and asked the rest of Aoba Johsai to meet up. It seemed like the practice match had been postponed for another day since Aoba Johsai and Karasuno were missing valuable players and soulmates finding each other in the process, it was just turning into a hot mess at this point so the coaches agreed on another day.
As Oikawa was walking towards the front gate a booming voice startled the both of them.
"Who the hell are you and why are you holding my son!?"
Oh shit.
