Ash And Curses

Chapter One

The school bell rang and everyone scampered to the class from the hallway, well, except Miley. Actually she was going to run like the others but someone had hit her and her books were on the floor, she sighed as she bent to pick them up.
"Hey Miley"a girl said. Even without looking up, she knew who it was. It was her best friend Kate. Standing next to her was Frankie, his hands were around his waist and he blinked severally. "You should be in class"she said standing up. "I just got to school"Kate laughed. "My Dad woke up late and we had to stop when we saw Frankie"she continued. Frankie suddenly made a sound with his mouth then, Miley realized he was chewing a bubblegum. She shot a glance at him and he muttered an apology.

Frankie was gay. From his facial features anyone would figure that out, he wasn't Miley's friend but he was always around Kate so she had to talk to him sometimes. It seemed he was the only gay in the school but according to his claims, he had a secret lover.

Kate and Miley were birds of same feathers, they were the "𝐸𝑦𝑒𝑠 𝐺𝑙𝑢𝑒𝑑 𝑇𝑜 𝑀𝑦 𝐵𝑜𝑜𝑘, 𝐺𝑜𝑡 𝑁𝑜 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝐹𝑜𝑟 𝐵𝑜𝑦𝑠" kinda type; typical nerds. She had no friend apart from Kate and she wanted it to remain that way, she was Kate's only friend too. But lately, she started noticing other people, especially boys. And she started having an interest in paranormal activities. She was always searching up weird stuffs like Witchcraft and Magic which irked Miley.

"Are you having your class on the floor?"Kate asked and Miley laughed. "Someone accidentally dropped my books"she replied. "Oh, I was worried you've gone cray cray"Kate laughed.
"Umm...we should go? I don't want to have issues with the history teacher... again"Frankie said.

Unfortunately the History teacher, Mr Williams had already begun lectures and gave them a hot tongue-lashing as they walked to their seats.
"Two nerds who wouldn't attend classes early, you think your straight A's can't be turned into F's?"he asked as Kate and Miley sat. "Are the one who can't get his eyes away from men's ass. Pervert!"he spat and the class erupted into laughter.

"Why say men? I don't admire men ass, you're a man and your ass disgusts me"Frankie muttered, playing with his nails, the class suddenly went silent and Frankie looked up. Mr Williams eyes widened.
"Oh my God, did I say that out loud?"Frankie said almost in a whisper, covering his mouth. "Get out of my class"Mr Williams said through gritted teeth.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't–"
"Get out! Unless you want a detention"he frowned. Frankie scurried away immediately
Mr Williams breathed in deeply and sighed. "So, we'd be having an excursion to the Arts Museum tomorrow..."he began.

Frankie watched from a corner, whistling as students disappeared. Mr Williams appeared from the hallway and glared at him, Frankie looked away immediately. He muttered incoherently as he walked away.  As soon as he noticed Mr Williams was gone, he ran into the class. Luckily, Miley and Kate were still there.
"I'm sorry for that little disrespect"he muttered. "What were you thinking saying that?"Kate laughed. "You can't blame me; I just wanted to clear the air"he replied, playing with his fingers.
Miley stared at him with disdain. "Do you really have to be his friend?"she muttered to Kate who only shrugged. "So, what did the saggy ass say?"Frankie asked and Kate chuckled.
"Nothing much, just revision on the previous lessons and, oh– we're going for an excursion to the Arts Museum tomorrow"Kate replied. "Oh. So, maybe I could meet you at your house tomorrow and we'd come to school together, yeah?"he asked. "Sure"Kate replied, smiling. "Alright then, I should head home"he said and bade them goodbye.

Kate turned to Miley. "I'm sorry, my Dad won't be able to pick you tomorrow"she said. "You know the car only accommodates three people"she continued. Miley let out a dry laugh.
"It's fine, I understand"she replied shortly.

𝐼𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝐾𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑑𝑖𝑡𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑔𝑢𝑦, Miley huffed as she dropped her bag on the bed. She dragged her feet to the sitting room and her eyes unconsciously went to the photograph of her parents. She let out a sigh.
"It's been two years now"she whispered.

"We've been here for a week now, what do you want from us"the lady asked. "Yes. We need to see our daughter"the man beside her said. Their hair was white from the ice and their teeth chattered vigorously.
"A week? It's been two years!"she exclaimed and laughed loudly.
"What?! Let us out, we need to see our daughter!"the lady cried. "Why are you doing this? Who are you and what do you want from us?"the man asked.
"I don't know what to say but, I have a feeling your daughter is the reason you are here."

Miley tossed and turned on the bed whilst grabbing her sheets tightly. She felt a hot breath around her ear and a familiar voice whispering.
"Mother?"
"𝐻𝑒𝑙𝑝 𝑢𝑠 𝑀𝑖𝑙𝑒𝑦..."the voice whispered. She heard a faint chatter of teeth, then it became unbearably loud...
