Chapter Four

Miley leaned on the wall, breathing heavily. Then she dialed Kate's number. "Hey M, I was about calling you. You won't believe what happened today"Kate said from the other end. "Come over now"Miley said. "Why? Isn't it a little late?"Kate asked.
"Take a cab. I need you Kate." "Alright... give me few minutes, I'll be there."

"I tried entering but something was pulling me back"Kate said.
"Kate!" "Sorry sorry"Kate raised her hands to show apology.
Miley took a deep breath. "Umm...when we went to the Museum few days ago, I saw a book in a glass box. Return Of Ash was written on it. I was why a book would be in a Museum so I called the attention of a worker"Miley began.
"When he got there, the book had disappeared into thin air"she said and Kate's eyes widened. "What the–"she whispered. "He said something about a magic book that was there years ago, I can't really remember. Then I had to cut my hair because of what Andy did to it. I was so sad I cried to bed. While I was at the bathroom today, I saw a paper on the sink... I swear I never put it there"She said bringing out a paper from her pocket. She handed it to Kate. "RET"Kate read.
"That was the least of my problems. When I looked in the mirror, I– I saw my hair was back to its normal length."
"What the fuck..."Kate whispered.
"Well err, I felt the need to take a walk when I got home but I didn't have the strength so, I boarded a Taxi. I wanted to go to the Museum... I don't know why I stopped at the Cave. I entered and there was nothing special, I was about to leave when I heard a loud noise. When I looked back, there was a big black book on the floor, I swear it was never there. On the cover was a paper just like the one I found in the bathroom"she said, bringing out another paper from her breast pocket. "URN?"Kate looked confused.
"I had an idea so I merged the two papers together and..." "Return"they both said together.
"As soon as I did that, the cave shook and three words appeared on the cover of the book; Return Of Ash. It...it was the exact book I saw in the Museum"Miley said. "This is getting creepy"Kate muttered, her eyes darting around the house.
"Then the book opened by itself and stopped at a page. Realities Are Imaginations We Put More Effort In was written on it. I knew I had to run. When I got to the entrance, I found you and Frankie trying to enter and I tried to stop you but y'all acted like you couldn't see me. I told you the place was dangerous, even pushed you away but I don't know –it was like I was invisible or something. I ran home immediately you left the Cave"Miley said.

There was silence in the room for a minute or two. "What kinda sick imagination do you have?"Kate asked. "What?" "You said all these to scare me or what?"
"I'm not lying Kate"Miley said.
"Yeah, right"Kate rolled her eyes. "Come, I'll show you"she said, dragging her to the bathroom. Close to the door was the trash bin, and in it was a large mass of human hair.
"See that? That's the hair I cut"Miley said and Kate gasped, grabbing her. "This is scary. Why didn't you tell me all these while?"she asked.
"I... I wanted to, I just don't know how to"Miley sighed. "How do you stay alone after all these?"she asked and Miley shrugged.
"I want to sleep now but I can't stay alone. Maybe I could sleep in your room?"Kate asked. "I called you so you could take away my fears not get scared"Miley muttered, leading her to the bedroom.

It was late at night when Kate woke up to ease herself. She stared at Miley, she was sleeping peacefully. Then she saw a sight that almost made her scream. The Alarm clock was floating in air and Miley's fingers were pointing at it. "Oh my goodness"Kate cried and closed her eyes tightly.

The next morning, Kate stared at her oddly for almost an hour.
"Is there any problem?"Miley finally asked.
"You...you put your alarm clock in air last night"Kate said.
"I did what now?"Miley laughed.
"I woke up to pee and it was suspended in air...your fingers were pointing at it"said.
"Stop this nonsense"Miley laughed.
"I'm serious, I saw you... you were pointing at it and–"
"You're imagining nonsense."Miley frowned at her.
"Believe me or not, just don't come close to me... for now"Kate replied, moving away from her.

"Can you help me get the baking pan? It's on the shelf"Miley called as she mixed the flour with the butter.
"Can you take it?"she teased Kate.
"I'm 5"5"Kate frowned at her and leaned to grab it.
"Be careful"Miley suddenly said, startling her. Her fingers pushed the baking pan and Miley screamed as it was about to fall, pointing at it. "Umm, Miley?"Kate whispered, moving back until her back hit the wall. The baking pan was suspended in the. Miley screamed again, dropping her hand. A clattering sound was heard as the pan fell.

"I don't want this, Kate"Miley whispered. "I don't know how I got it but I don't want it"she continued. "I don't know, I have an idea, I don't know if it'd work"Kate began. "At this moment, I'll do anything. I'm desperate Kate."

Miley took a deep breath as the entrance of the cave creaked and widened. It was as empty as it was the first day she entered.
"Err... I came to return your powers to you. I don't need them, I don't want them. I just want to live a normal life"she began. There was still total silence. "I think this belongs to you"she said, dropping the two papers.
"I'm sorry I took them, you can have them back. I... I just want to be a normal teenager, my life is already messed up, I don't want more complications"she said.

There was still silence.

"I know you can hear me. I'm sorry for ever entering this cave or... anything. Please leave me alone I plead with you, give your powers to someone who needs it"she sniffed. "My life is already complicated, I can't handle this. I... I hope you understand with me"she said, stared at the place before running outside, Kate was waiting outside.
"Kate"she cried, hugging her tightly. "It's fine, everything will be fine now"Kate muttered.

The Principal entered with a petite girl with blond hair and brown eyes. "Hello everyone"he started.
"Good day Sir"the students chorused.
"We have a new student. Bianca Leonard"he said and she smiled, staring at her toes. She suddenly looked up and fixed her gaze on Kate. Then she smiled again.
