Chapter Ten

"So, she has...powers?"Bianca asked and Kate nodded. "Invisibility and telekinesis"she replied. "That's cool"Bianca smiled.
"And strange too"she continued.
"I don't know why I'm telling you this, Bianca. This is her private life"Kate was saying when Bianca shushed her.
"If it's her private life, she wouldn't be telling you and that gay boy"she said.
"Besides, she needs help and I might be able to help her"she shrugged.
"How do you intend to do that?"Kate  asked and Bianca grinned widely.
"Watch this"she said.

"How's your power going?"Frankie whispered.
"Well, I guess"Miley whispered back. "The invisibility has to do with imaginations I guess. I was reading the book today and it said '𝑅𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑤𝑒 𝑝𝑢𝑡 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑒𝑓𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑡 𝑖𝑛'"she explained.
"So, you just have to imagine you are invisible and...voilà?"Kate asked and Miley nodded.
"Y'all see this"she grinned and closed her eyes.
"I can't see you"Frankie said.
"I know"Miley chuckled. Then she hit him hard.
"Ow!"he yelled and the teacher turned.
"Is there a problem Mr Damian"he asked and Frankie shook his head.
"No sir"he replied.
Miley chuckled as soon as the teacher's back was against them again while Kate tried her best not to laugh.

Miley tickled Frankie.
"Stop it!"he laughed and the teacher turned again, frowning this time.
"Is there a joke you'd love to share with the class, Mr Franklin Damian?"he asked.
"No Sir"he replied. The teacher stared at him before turning back to the board.

Miley became visible again.
"Why me?"he frowned.
"You've gotten into lots of troubles, it won't change a thing if you're sent out of the class for laughing stupidly"she shrugged.
"Alright, have a nice day class"the teacher said before leaving.
"I wanted to prank him"Miley muttered disappointedly.
"There's always another day"Kate patted her back sympathetically.

"Hi Miley"Bianca smiled as she approached them.
"Hi"Miley replied, staring at her oddly. This was the first time Bianca was speaking to her, the other times, they just gave each other weird stares.
"Can I speak with you prefer?"she asked. Frankie tugged at Miley's shirt tightly.
"Err, no. Say what you want, I'm listening"Miley said and Bianca smiled.
"I know about your powers and I want to help you"she said. Miley stuttered a surprised "what?" and turned to Kate.
"You told her?"she asked. "This is unbelievable! How could you–"
"She actually can help you"Kate said calmly.
"I do not need her help, how can you tell someone something I trusted you with?"Miley asked.
"Miley relax, I'm only trying to make this easier for you"Kate said, her temper was slightly rising.
"I never said I wanted it to be easier"Miley folded her arms.
"You said you never bargained for this, I'm trying to make it go away faster"Kate pointed out.
"Can't you just be appreciative?"she asked.
"Appreciative?!"Miley laughed.

"Guys?"Frankie whispered. He was in air and Bianca's index and middle fingers were up.
"Are you going to continue with your quarrel or get down to business?"she asked, dropping Frankie.
"Holy fuck! What if someone saw you?!"Miley exclaimed. Bianca shrugged.
"I make them think it's normal"she smiled.

"Open the next page"Bianca said.
"Why can't you do it yourself?"Miley huffed as she opened it. Bianca ignored her question.
"A little stain of your purity reduces your power and makes you vulnerable to external forces"she said.
"That means you have to try your best to remain pure"she continued. Miley stared at her. "And if this has something to do with your missing parents, I'm sure the book will lead you"Bianca said.
"I hope"Miley muttered and sighed deeply.
"This is an ancient book"Bianca said.
"What do you know about it?"Frankie stared at her suspiciously and she laughed.
"Nothing. It looks like an old book"she said.
"And how did you get your power?"he asked.
"Let's just say it's a gift from God"Bianca smiled.

"I should get going Miley"Kate said, standing up. "Dad is coming back today"she continued.
"Oh. It's fine"Miley smiled and hugged her.
"Me too, I err, have a date at 5pm"Frankie blushed.
"There's no problem, I'll see you both tomorrow"Miley smiled.
"And call me as soon as you get home"she said to Kate.
"I will"Kate nodded.

It wasn't up to three minutes and Miley was already getting uncomfortable with Bianca's presence.
"I– I'll be back"she said, going to the bedroom.
She returned just in time to see Bianca trying to open the book.
"Damn!"she muttered.
"Is there a problem?"Miley asked.
"No, not really. I was about leaving"she replied and stood up.
"I'll see you tomorrow Miley"she smiled at her before leaving.

"Kate, I know you're trying to help me and stuffs but, I don't know Bianca well. Besides, I don't trust her"Miley said.
"Why don't you trust her?"Kate asked.
"She's strange. She– she made me flip the pages of the book while she read, why couldn't she flip them herself?"Miley sighed.
"And while you were gone, I think she was trying to touch the book but couldn't."
"Are you saying she's evil?"Kate raised an eyebrow.
"No, no. Everything about her is just strange"Miley explained.
"It's all about trust, Miley. Bianca can't hurt a fly, she's just like you."
"No, she's not. She– I swear there's something about her. I don't know why you can't see it"Miley groaned in frustration, pulling her hair.
"Someone's trying to help you Miley , you should be grateful"Kate shook her head before leaving.

"I don't know why she thinks that way."
"She's been through a lot. And meeting another stranger with weird powers, it's normal to be wary and suspicious"Bianca shrugged.
"But she should understand you're not evil""Kate blurted out.
"It would take time, Kate"she smiled and wrapped her arms around her waist.
"I've missed you"she murmured in her ear, nibbling at her earlobe.
