(This chapter will get pretty dark. My ending isn't coming any time soon so buckle up. My writing sucks but I hope you like it)

I panted, my chest rising and falling. My eyes strained to open. Everything felt numb. My hands that were tied behind my back felt like thin air. My feet were planted like a tree but I couldn't feel them. Somethings hurt you but one thing has always been true, "When you fall get back up but on your way punch someone". My dad loved using this message when we were crying. I had fallen, and I was still falling but one thing was for sure, someone was going to get punched. Everything that I had done came flooding back and I knew who immediately deserved to get punched. Me, Harper Angel Louis. It was my dad's idea of a joke but my mom took it seriously. I deserved to drown with no one loving me. I deserved it. But my brother didn't deserve any of it. All of the rage and guilt and anger came circling back into my head. It was like a tornado as it was a fight. I couldn't take it anymore. Then I heard whispers in the pitch black room. My instinct to flight was high but fight was more appealing. Then my brain realized one thing, Force Field was the 3rd F in the sequence. My mist had now surrounded me as I tried to find a way out of the wooden chair.

"Shadow? Are you awake?" Missy's voice called.

An idea struck. I let my mist disappear and I hung my head, pretending to be asleep. I heard a light turn on and dots came through my closed eyes. They danced around.

"Is she pretending?" Noodles suggested.

"Harper Louis look at me," Mr. Moreno ordered.

His voice sounded desperate and I cursed myself for being selfless. I raised my head slowly and let my eyes adjust to the light.

"Yes, sir," My voice sounded weak. My head started spinning, remembering that fateful day.

I was at the Day Care Center when in the middle of the day Harry opened the door, panting from running. Sweat glistened on his forehead and cheeks. He ran up to me and hugged me tightly. I hesitantly returned the hug.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Oh, Harper..." He hugged me.

"Come on, lets get out of here," He kept his arm around me like he was protecting me from something.

"Harry? What's wrong?" My 9 year old innocence didn't understand.

He led me to a corner in the hallway and kneeled down. I watched in confusion as he stumbled over his words. Trying to find the right word, the right explanation to where our parents were. What they were doing, and what had happened.

"Mom and Dad are um... well..."

"What? Harry are you ok?"

"Mom and Dad died on a mission this morning." It was rushed and at first I didn't process what he had just told me.

He had tears running down his face and I realized it wasn't sweat on his cheeks but tears. I sunk to my knees and let Harry envelope me in a hug. The numbness it was so familiar. The same numbness, the helplessness. I let myself cry, I let myself grieve. It was very uncomfortable when we went to stores or such because people would give us looks of sympathy. I hated that look. Like I am sorry but it wasn't their fault. It was the look of being a kid. It was like I could burst out crying at any second.

It was the exact opposite, I tried to stay strong during the day and during the nights Harry and I would hold each other as we cried. He was always by my side. I stopped going to the Day Care Center for 3-4 months. Harry stopped going to High School. He was always there, he was always there.

"He was always there. He was always there," I muttered.

"Harper... You know it wasn't their fault right?" Mr. Moreno lifted my chin to look up at him.

"You're right, It was mine," I snapped my bonds and ran past the door and into the Heroics Headquarters.

I could figure this out easy enough but I needed something to give me light. My mist went searching and found a flashlight. I grabbed it and ran. It was pitch black which told me that I was underground and it was night. Luckily, the lights weren't motion activated. I jogged up the steps and sprinted past corners. The maze getting to be too much. Everything was falling apart but how surprising was that. I was one out of billions looking for me at the current moment. Finally I reached the doors and saw a starry night. The force field was down and the streets were empty. I used my mist and flew.

I used my mist and flew

I flew through the sky and landed on the roof of a nearby building. I had also stolen a walkie talkie. I turned it on and dialed it to the police emergency frequency that my brother had me memorize after the death of my parents. It was empty, just static. I then turned it onto the regular police department frequency it was again static. I ran to the door down the steps into the building. My boots clattered against the metal. Finally, I reached the highest floor. I had landed in an apartment building. I opened every door, which were all unlocked and saw signs of people living in them but no one was there. I was like that in every room and on every floor. Where was everyone? I made it to the lobby and saw somebody groaning in the corner. The voice sounded familiar.

Cautiously, I approached the figure. Looking right back at me was Noodles.
