(Okay before you start reading can we give a hand to whoever created this lyrical video because it is amazing!)
As we rode I noticed things happening to Noodles. He was shaking his head and muttering things underneath his breath until we were right outside the White House and I heard a small cry. My ears started listening extremely carefully to hear where the sound was coming from. Noodles hands were now shaking but I was too preoccupied.
"Help!" I heard a small child whisper.
I ran towards the child and found Guppy backed up against the side of the building. She was nursing a sprained wrist. I sighed in relief before walking slowly to the scared girl.
"Shadow?" Guppy whispered.
"Hey... It's me," I breathed.
She ran towards me and I clutched her against my chest, I balanced her on my hip. She laid her head on my shoulder while I walked back to find Noodles. I was ecstatic that I had found another person in this weird, lonely maze. But Noodles wasn't by his bike where I had left him. My eyes narrowed in confusing.
"Who are you looking for?" Guppy asked.
"Noodles, he was right by his bike the last time I saw him," I answered.
Guppy wiggled in my arms.
"Are you with them?" Guppy had wriggled herself so she landed on the ground.
"With who?" I was ever so confused.
"Tell me a fact that they wouldn't know," She ordered.
"Who is they?" I pressed.
"Answer the question!" She yelled.
"Um... my mom's aunt's cousin had a tiger named Niger," I thought.
"Ok... What did Noodles tell you?" Guppy asked.
I just now realized how in the open we were. If Noodles wasn't a good guy, at least not according to Guppy, then who could I trust and who was watching from the shadows. I shook my head and led her up the stairs and into the vacant White House. It was dark and reached in my jacket pocket for the flashlight and phone. I gave Guppy the flashlight and I turned on the phones light. There was a waiting room like thing past the security desk. It was musty and smelled of blood. That didn't settle on my stomach. I still didn't feel safe so we kept walking until we came across the mural room (Hope that's a thing. I am not up to date on the White House fancy rooms). We both sat down on the couches across from each other. I had grabbed the first aid kit before going inside so I started patching up Guppy's sprained wrist while she told me her side of the story.
"Well... Mr. Moreno told us to spread out and look for any sign of life, I headed to the back of the Heroics headquarters when I heard whispering. I saw Noodles kiss Acapella and her eyes flash red. He smirked and I tip toed away. He and Acapella then attacked the rest of us. Everyone else was knocked out but I made a shark and flew away. I had sprained my wrist during the battle and I ended up on the side of the White House," Guppy admitted, tears streaming down her face.
"Hey... It's okay," I comforted and hugged her, stroking her hair.
"Now how did you get here?" Guppy wondered.
I explained everything that had happened. Guppy nodded after I finished. I stood up and scanned the room, trying to think of a way to find the files that I needed.
"How about we go find the computer that is in the Situation Room?" I suggested. (I am thanking my mom's obsession with the West Wing for that knowledge).
She agreed. But finding said room was harder than expected and we both realized that we were starving, luckily we found ourselves into what look liked a break room. Bagels and donuts adorned the tables and there were different drinks like coffee and hot cocoa in a machine to the side of the room. Wooden table were laid out in the middle. Our lights scanned over the scene before we got something to eat. After eating we were getting ready to find the Situation Room when we heard a thump from the floor above us. We both ran up the stairs and heard people whispering in the Mural room.
"Are you sure they went in here?" A female voice whispered.
"Yeah, they're fingerprints are on the couches," A second male voice answered.
I put my finger on my lips and we turned off our lights and tried to sneak past the doorway but Guppy accidentally kicked the door frame and they heard. Their heads whipped around, We ran, moving our way through the maze of hallways trying to make zero noise. But we were also in the complete dark because our flashlights would give us away too easily. We ran down some carpeted steps and came across a solid steel door that was locked. My heart jumped, had we found the situation room. But footsteps were heard approaching. We moved through the darkness trying to find a key when I felt one under my foot. I immediately crouched down and stumbled, my fingers shaking to pick up the card. Finally I had clasped my hand around it and searched for where I would slide it in. The door opened ever so slowly and we both slipped in before locking the door. Lights turned on in the room and we turned around and saw elaborate technology surrounding a meeting table with chairs surrounding the edge. On the screen vertical to the head of the table flashed "Situation Room."
(I hope you enjoy. Trying to dive more into the mystery)
