(This is for Glade_girl22, I hope you enjoy)
Riding on your bike for 3 hours seems like a good idea at the time of thought but in reality 2 hours later your legs are screaming with rage at you. So much fun! Since we had a long way too go, we talked. Because being as introverted as I was means that I don't really know people very well.
"So, what's your favorite color?" Noodles asked.
"Hmm... I have to say violet, what about you." I pondered.
"Um... Probably orange," Noodles answered.
"Okay, what is your spirit animal?" I continued the game.
"Noodles," He said with a straight face.
"Wait... what?" I laughed.
"I'm not kidding. I have taken every spirit animal test ever and I got noodles," He shrugged.
"Sorry for laughing but..." I broke out chuckling again.
"No its fine, no girl as cute as you as laughed with me like that," Noodles excused.
I blushed, my cheeks becoming tomato red.
"So what about you?" Noodles moved on like nothing happened.
"Uh... a black panther," I answered, my blush still clearly heavy on my face.
"What is your favorite memory?" Noodles wondered.
"Well... my mom and I went to a rally when I was 9, around 2 months before she died. It was for teachers to get higher pay. My aunt was a teacher so we went with her and it was the most exhilarating feeling. I loved holding that sign and yelling for people to hear us. That has to be my favorite one," I explained.
"I think my favorite memory was when you stood up and spoke for the first time in front of us. I had seen you before and wondered what went on in a mind like yours and now I think I finally understand what makes you tick," He told.
"That's very thoughtful. Now, here is a question I ask everyone I meet. There is a glass half filled with water. What do you think?" I questioned.
"That the glass is all the way fill with the top half filled with air," He thought.
"What about you?" He wondered.
"That whoever engineered the cup made the cup too big to hold the amount of water that was poured in," I had this one down by memory.
"That is a very interesting question," Noodles complimented.
We rode in silence for a while and every so often I would glance at Noodles and if he caught me I would blush and turn back towards the empty road. Every 10 minutes I would look at the GPS that we could have quite possibly stolen from a jacket pocket. My mind was thinking about Noodles, how his hair glistened in the sun and his eyes were a deep chocolate brown.
"Crap," I whispered under my breath.
I liked him. The butterfly's flying in my stomach and my hands feeling clammy. My heart was racing and my brain was trying to stop it all. I couldn't have a crush. There was too much going on, I had loved 3 other people and all of them had been killed. All of them had slipped from my grasp. I couldn't take that hurt anymore, I couldn't pretend that I was okay, I couldn't cry in the shower anymore. I couldn't say goodbye. I couldn't wear black again. No, I won't say I like him, I won't let myself get hurt again.
"Hey... how much time is left?" Noodles interrupted my train of thought.
"About 30 minutes," I answered.
I squinted because I thought I saw someone walking along the road. I skidded to a halt when I could identify that it was indeed a person. Noodles followed my example. I put my bike stand up and mounted off my bike. My boots echoed through the blank air as I approached the hunched over figure. It was Acapella. She had a hood on.
"Acapella?" I asked, pushing Noodles behind me.
She looked up at me and her eyes glowed red. Noodles stepped to my side and she opened her mouth and this high pitched sound wave came from it. He was sent flying into a nearby window. I turned back but was hit by one of her beams.
My mist took a mind of its own and set up a force field, protecting me. I faced her and set my mist up in my hands
I blasted her with one of my mist balls. It hit her and she fainted. I was torn between checking on Acapella or going to check on Noodles. My selflessness one and I approached Acapella slowly. Her breathing was slow. I heard some rubble moving and I picked up a piece of rubble with my mist and put it at the forehead of who was moving.
It was noodles. He pushed the debris out of the way.
"Thank God!" I breathed.
"Is she okay?" Noodles pointed at Acapella.
"She's fine, her pulse is strong," I answered.
"Well... What should we do?" Noodles asked.
"I think we should take her, if she gets out of hand I can knock her out again," I said.
"NO!" He shouted, quickly.
I looked at him weird.
"I mean what if we can't hold her back the next time, she already injured me once, she could do it again," He rubbed his neck.
My eyes were still narrowed but I nodded. Something was off about him. I tried forgetting about it and moving on. We got back on our bikes and kept riding towards the White House but I kept looking back at the person we had just left. I shook my head and kept going.
