A lesson,
I have taught,
but never really learned.
Until now.
Until my slips
caught up to me.A lesson,
the harshest of them all.
On my frail flesh it
crashes
clashes
at every corner
at every crack
it finds
to remind me
of my transgression.A break,
it barely gives.
A breath,
I never catch.
And so I'm left
to fight off
the demons of my past.
Peace,
they'll never surrender.
Death,
they fail to encounter.
Immortal,
forever they may be.Forgiveness,
they never lend.
A reminder,
they ring;
of the sins
that swallowed me whole.
Collided,
until one,
we became.
For I am my sins
that's guaranteed,
and a tainted soul,
I'll forever be.
