Dangerously familiar is
the sheepish smile you so naturally gift
the moment your eyes savor mine.Dangerously familiar is
the intricate attention you pay
to my sly details.
From the the cunning looks I send your way,
to the anklet hanging around the skin
you used to touch.Dangerously familiar is
your so-not-casual
yet naturally requested invite
to a familiar cup of tea.Dangerously familiar is
our innocent stroll.
Your body next to mine,
our arms nearing a soft brush
but we don't dare
let them find their way back to each other.Dangerously familiar are
the awoken memories
we once pleasurably shared.
And your honest laughter,
to a sneaky comment I slid under my breath
to once again,
hear your uncontrollable laughter
as it echoes through the hallway
where we stand.Dangerously familiar are
your teasing remarks,
your playful banter,
and our dramatic dynamic
that played out so naturally.Dangerously familiar are
your flirtatious remarks
the ones that rooted out
the blooms I once had for you.Dangerously familiar is
my need to keep these memories of you
alive
by rushing to a poem
to preserve the treasured moments
I fear my mind will deceitfully drop,
till it sweeps the remnant trace of you,
the one I'm so afraid to let go.
