"Sounds like a party. Make it 6." Octavia says, coming over to join us now.

"Hey, what the hell are you doing?" Her brother, the guard, asks, questioning her decision.

"Going for a walk." She mutters.

"Hey, were you trying to take this off?" Clark suddenly asks, grabbing 'Spacewalkers' arm and looking at the metal band around his wrist.

"Yeah. So?" He asks.

"So this wristband transmits your vital signs to the Ark. Take it off, and they'll think you're dead." She continues to say.

"Should I care?" 'Spacewalker' asks.

"Well, I don't know. Do you want the people you love to think you're dead? Do you want them to follow you down here in two months? Because they won't if they think we're dying." Clark says.

I look down at my own wristband now. Realizing just how important it was for the Ark that we don't take them off. Although I had no more friends or family left on the Ark, did I still want them to think I was dead?

"Ok, Now let's go." Clark tells us.

We all follow behind as 'spacewalker' leads the way.

"Uhm, may I ask where exactly we're going?" I ask, as we walk through the forest.

"To Mount Weather" he says, continuing to walk.

As we walk, Clark makes her way to the front of the group, telling 'Spacewalker' whose name I learned was Finn, not to get lost.

I walked beside Monty and Jasper, Monty picking up different plants as we walked.

We stopped walking, as Finn stopped to pluck a flower, putting it into Octavia's hair.

"Now that, my friend, is game." Jasper says, nudging Monty.

"That, my friend, is poison sumac." Monty says, as he picks up one of the purple flowers.

"What? It is?" Octavia says, quickly brushing the flower out of her hair.

"The flowers aren't poisonous. They're medicinal, calming actually." Monty says, eating the flower.

I chuckle as I watch this.

Monty holds up another flow, offering it to us. No one takes it, so I do. I eat the flower, but it doesn't taste like much.

"His family grows all the pharmaceuticals on the Ark." Jasper tells us.

"Hey, guys, would you try to keep up?" Clarke turns around to say.

"Come on, Clarke. How do you block all this out?" Finn asks her.

"Well, it's simple. I wonder, 'Why haven't we seen any animal?'. Maybe it's because there are none, maybe we've already been exposed to enough radiation to kill us." She says.

I stop walking, thinking about this. I become slightly nervous, thinking that we could all die from radiation.

"Sure is pretty, though. Come on." She says, before walking off once more.

"Someone should slip her some poison sumac." Octavia says.

We all chuckle at this, but I shake the thought from my head.

"You guys don't think there's really radiation still, do you." I ask.

"Eh, we should be fine." Finn tells me.

"Yeah, that's real assuring." I mutter, but continue walking along.

"I got to know what you two did to get busted." Finn asks Jasper and Monty.

"Sumac isn't the only herb in the garden, if you know what I mean." Monty says.

I laugh at this, realizing what he was talking about.

"Someone forgot to replace what we took." Jasper says, glaring playfully to Monty.

"Someone has apologized, like 1000 times." Monty responds back.

"Alex? What about you?" Monty asks me.

I sigh, before telling them.

"You guys heard about someone blowing up the lab, right?" I ask them.

"No way, that was you?!" Jasper asks excitedly.

"Yes, but it was just an accident. They really shouldn't have left a glass vial full of ethanol out during a tour of the lab. Some idiot spilled it and I wiped it with a towel. Another mistake was them leaving a lit Bunsen burner." I tell them.

"How about you Octavia? What'd they get you for?" Jasper asks.

"Being born." She says before running up ahead.

"That is so not game." Monty says, hitting Jasper.

Jasper hits him back and the two go back and forth hitting each other. Suddenly, we all stop, seeing Clarke and Octavia kneeling behind a bush. We run up behind them, kneeling down beside them now.

Clarke points out something up ahead of us. It was a deer. I gasp slightly, shocked to see the big animal. This was the first animal any of us had seen on earth.

"That's a real deer?" I whisper to myself, still not believing what I was seeing.

I could hear Monty chuckle from beside me, amused at my disbelief.

All of a sudden, I notice Finn move closer to the deer. He steps on a branch, however, causing the deer to look in our direction.

We all shrink back in fear as we see the deer's face, or more so faces. It was as if a second head was growing out of the deer's face. The deer then jumps up, running off into the forest.

"L-Let's keep going, guys." I say, standing up quickly.

I wanted to get the image of the disfigured deer out of my head as soon as possible.

The others stood up and we began walking once more.

We walked in silence for a while, until the quiet became too uncomfortable to bear.

"You know, I've been studying mechanics and engineering for the past year. Now, what good am I when we're surrounded by trees." I say, ducking under a low tree branch.

"You wanna know what I'd like to know, why send us down today after 97 years? What changed?" Finn adds on.

"Who cares? I'm just glad they did. I woke up rotting in a cell, and now I'm spinning in a forest." Octavia says, spinning around a tree.

"Maybe they found something on a satellite. You know, like an old weather satellite or-" Monty starts but gets cut off by Clarke.

"It wasn't a satellite. The Ark is dying." She says from behind us.
