A scream breaks free from my throat, watching as Jasper's body lays against the tree, as he stares at the speare sticking out from his chest.
I don't hear the voices around me anymore. The only thing I hear is the pounding of my own heartbeat. I feel someone pull me down, crouching behind a rock.
"Get down!" I hear Finn say.
I suddenly come to my senses, looking around the forest. I could hear branches moving in the trees. Something or someone was definitely here.
"We're not alone," Clarke says.
Suddenly, Clarke is up and on her feet again, as she ushers us all up as well.
"Come on, we have to go." She says, leading the way.
"But what about Jasper!" I ask, looking back to my new friend.
"Look, we have to go now, who or whatever it is could come back" Finn says.
Finn grabs Octavia's arm, helping her to rush through the forest. Monty and I run along with them, sticking closely to the others.
As we are running, we all follow behind Clarke, seeing as she was at the front. I got to jump over a fallen tree, but Monty trips, landing onto the ground.
"Monty!" I yell, running to his side.
He stares in front of him, at a moss covered object. I grab his arm, as Finn and I help him up.
Looking at the object once more, I recognize it to be a skeleton. We all look at the skeleton now.
"Who are they?" Finn asks.
"What are they?" Clarke asks, picking up an odd shaped rock.
It was a skull. A weirdly shaped skull.
"We are so screwed." Octavia mutters.
Just then, we hear Jasper scream.
"Jasper." Clarke says.
"He's alive!" I exclaim, as Clarke and I then run back in the direction we had come from. Back towards the lake. "Clarke! Alex, wait!" Finn yells at us, but neither of us listen, only continuing to run back to Jasper.
"Stay out of the trees." Finn says, stopping Clarke and I from going out of the forest.
I looked over to where I remembered Jasper's body. The sign was there, but no Jasper.
"He was right there." Finn says.
"No. Where is he?" Monty questions.
I try to look around, seeing if maybe we were looking in the wrong place, but sure enough, I could see blood from where I was.
"They took him." Clarke says.
A half hour later, we were running through the forest once more, trying to make our way back to the drop ship. I notice Octavia limping slightly, due to her wound.
"Octavia, let me help." I say, rushing to her side.
She wraps her arm around my shoulder, allowing me to help her along.
"Let's hurry." Clarke says, rushing ahead of us.
A few minutes go by and Octavia and I stop walking.
"There it is." Octavia says.
I smile, as we all continue on, hearing a loud commotion coming from the drop ship. There was a crowd of people, two people seemed to be fighting. I recognized the fighters to be Well and Murphy.
"Wells! Let him go!" Clark yells, running over to the fight.
There was a hill to get down, and I knew I couldn't get Octavia down it alone.
"Monty, help me get her down." I ask, gesturing to the hill in front of us.
Monty walks over, taking Octavia's other arm, as we slowly walk down the hill with her.
Upon spotting her, Bellamy runs over to his sister.
"Octavia. Are you alright?" He asks, as Monty and I let go of her.
"Where's the food?" He then asks, once he looked his sister over.
"We didn't make it to Mount Weather." Finn says.
"What the hell happened out there?" Bellamy questions.
"We were attacked." I say, taking a seat onto the ground, trying to catch my breath.
"Attacked? By what?" Wells asks.
"Not what. Who." Finn explains.
"It turns out, when the last man from the ground died on the Ark, he wasn't the last Grounder." Finn continues to explain.
"It's true. Everything we thought about the ground is wrong. There are people here, survivors. The good news is, that means we can survive. Radiation won't kill us." Clarke says.
"Yeah, the bad news is the Grounders will." Finn adds in.
It's silent for a moment, everyone taking in this information.
"Where's the kid with the goggles?" Wells asks, looking around.
"Jasper was hit. They took him." Clarke answers.
