True to her word, Mila turned up at the cabin door in the morning. And it took no time at all before she was running the place.
"Are you going to keep throwing a tantrum in the corner or are you going to be helpful?" Mila hissed towards Hercules who was sat the furthest away he could get from everyone. He had been listening in to the conversations and the planning of our rescue plan but was trying his best to look bored. He was currently cleaning a knife he'd picked out for himself from the bag of weapons I'd brought back. A knife that was new and most definitely did not need cleaning. Hercules glanced up towards Mila, his lip pulled back in a snarl of showed he was not a fan of Mila.
Mila smiled back, showing her perfectly white teeth before in her sweetest voice responded to Hercules' annoyance. "You don't scare me big boy, now get over here and help plan or leave."
I bit down on my lip to avoid laughing, Cam on the other hand didn't get the message and let out a loud laugh. Hercules let out a groan but dragged himself over to us, perching on the arm of the chair.
"Thank you." Mila sighed before going back to tapping on the computer. "So, you know where he is." She continued, directing her question at Hunter. He nodded but once again offered no explanation as to why. Mila spared me a look that told me everything she thought about that. "Alright." She said, giving me another look. "Well these are the plans to the building's layout." She said smirking away as she opened the tab she was evidently waiting to perform a grand reveal on.
Hunter let out a sigh recognising the smugness radiating from Mila.
Mila continued anyway. She tapped the screen and the layout altered. "These are the cameras, I can tap into them but I'll need a few hours. Although we can assume their holding Aaron in this area." She tapped the screen again, causing the screen to zoom in on the underground portion of the building. "Because there is only one access point."
"Yeah, you're probably right." Hunter agreed.
"I'm always right." Mila corrected and I couldn't stop the scoff leaving my mouth.
"But, there is a second access point." Hunter added on as he leaned forward. "May I?" He asked Mila, waiting for her to nod before he tapped the screen. The screen altered again, showing the woods outside the building. "There's an old tunnel that leads into the basement of the warehouse. The grate that gives you access is right over here." The screen didn't recognise any tunnel so Mila turned to look at Hunter.
"What tunnel?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him.
"There's a tunnel, trust me." Hunter responded, standing up from the sofa.
"Trust you? How do you know all of this anyway?" Mila said, still scowling in a manner that has sent lesser men running.
Hunter scowled back but didn't say anything.
"As long as it gets us in, who cares." Hercules interjected, clearly over the situation.
"Unless whatever is it gets us killed." Mila muttered under her breath.
I nudged her, telling her it was enough. She rolled her eyes but let it drop. She was right though, I knew she was right. Hunter was keeping something big from us, but I had enough faith left to believe he wouldn't keep a secret that would risk anyone's safety.
"So we have a way in, what now?" Hercules said, breaking the growing tension.
"Well, Mila will be our eyes from here. Where she'll keep Jack company." I responded, cutting off Mila's protests about how annoying she found Jack before she could start voicing them. "You'll ensure he is okay, that he is comfortable and that he makes a full recovery." I continued, glaring at Mila who rolled her eyes. "The rest of us will go rescue Aaron. We'll make our way in through this supposed section access point, hope that Aaron is in the basement. If not Mila will have hopefully hacked into the cameras and can give us live information about where he is."
