Cam lived up to his word and everyday he knocked on my door. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner together, alongside Aaron and Hercules. Hunter sometimes ate with us, but he mainly kept to himself. Not that I minded.
Cam ensured I was healing properly possibly and that I didn't spend all day in my room. And now, for the fourth night in a row, I was hanging out with them all. We sat around a fire in the garden that Hunter had put together.
Aaron handed me a marshmallow, that was shoved onto a stick. His face was already plastered with chocolate as he grinned. I started to spin the marshmallow in the open flame when from the corner of my eye, I watched Aaron nudge Hercules, making Hercules drop his entire stick into the fire. His marshmallow still attached.
Hercules' mouth dropped out as he stared at his food that he could no longer eat and I couldn't stop the laughter as it bubbled out of me. I laughed loudly, and hard, to the point tears started to well in my eyes. Everyone stared at me like I had three heads, and I realised how miserable I'd had been for so long.
I eventually calmed myself down and could see Cam hiding his smile. Aaron couldn't look away from me. "Are you laughing?" Aaron asked, almost stunned in place.
"Is that truly such a shock?" I replied.
"Yes." Hunter added curtly from the opposite side of the fire. I spared him a glare and noticed a smirk pulling at his lips. I quickly looked away to see Aaron stand up and bow. Hunter had been less of a prick since Cam started to help me, but I still didn't like him.
"What do I need to do to make you laugh like that again?" Hercules asked, ignoring everyone else. I rolled my eyes and started to eat my own marshmallow, before it befell the same fate as Hercules'.
The group grew quiet as the sounds of nature gathered around us. "I think you're ready to train again." Cam announced into the night.
"Really?" I couldn't keep the excitement out of my voice.
"No sparring." He said sternly, "but I think you're ready to throw some things, run a little bit."
I furrowed my brow in disbelief. "Is that truly how you think I train?"
"We've never seen you train." Hercules interjected, already roasting another marshmallow.
I shook my head. "That isn't true." I glanced over at Hunter. "This one stalked me whilst I trained."
"I didn't stalk you." He argued, sipping from his bottle.
"Sure you didn't." I took another bite of the marshmallow. "From what I remember, I was seconds away from slamming you into a wall and asking why you were being such a perv."
The left corner of his mouth pulled upwards, revealing a dimple. "That's not how I remember it. You were checking me out, English."
"You wish." I snorted. "I was wondering why someone had come into the gym in business shoes."
Aaron laughed then. "He was wearing my shorts too. It was the only somewhat gym outfit we could put together for him to fit in."
I laughed in response, "I remember thinking the shorts you were wearing were rather short."
Hunter rolled his eyes, hiding any response with another sip of beer.
"The thing I recall from that day is the moment you jumped off that roof." Hercules added, sucking on a tooth as he did. "Truly doesn't get hotter than that."
I scoffed at him, taking his beer out of his hand and drinking it for myself. He gave me a wink and I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, you definitely didn't make our lives very easy." Aaron said, running his hand through his hair as he recalled the events.
