Without missing a beat these words come out of my mouth.
"Really?!" I couldnt help but bluntly say.
Kaelyn was holding a bag in one hand and the other hand was tucked behind her back.
" Wait ... where are you going?"
I walk past her not looking her in the eye, as I walk outside she grabbed my hand spinning me around.
" Babe... I mean ... of fuck it I mean babe, why have you walked out?what did I do now? "
I could tell by kaelyns' voice she was upset.
" I saw you, in your car earlier and then you said you'd be late, you're already lying to me!"
I was next to tears... our late night texts led me to belive maybe we could give us another try. I mean I was still so in love with her. I'd never forgotten about her. I move my hand, letting hers fall loose swaying in the autumn air.
" I lied because I was getting you these at the market down the road, I missed your birthday last month... The flowers are what I just bought. They're your favourite right...yellow turlips."
Kaely handed a bag full of old photos, my favourite alcohol and an envelope and a big bunch of yellow tulips, she did a subtle smile and asked if I liked them.
" I love them, I'm sorry I .."
Before I could finish my sentence kaelyn stopped me.
" Please just open the envelope, I wasn't a good girlfriend before, I miss you, I forgot your presants earlier that's why I was late, then I lied to get your flowers, I couldnt find them in yellow anywhere . I wanted it to be differant this time. I'm so sorry I fucked up, I'll go"
Just as she started to walk away I opened the envelope. It had one note a week from when we broke up. Most of them were times she text me and called me with a message on how she was feeling. She had never been so open and I could tell she had missed me. There was also a letter as I opened it I shouted for Kaelyn.
" You remebered" I was shocked.
She turned around and walked back with tears rolling down her cheeks.
" Of course I did "
The envelop had two tickets to a hotel along with two tickets for a production of a show I was reading in class . Kealyn always said it sounded boring but promised if it was being performed she'd take me.
I walked towards her, now with tears in my eyes. I placed my hand out in Hope's she would place hers against mine.
She did.
She started tracing her finger tips along the palm of my hand and intertwined our hands, holding mine tight but comfortably.
" I ordered your drink before you turned up, I didnt even mean too, but it just came so naturally... I have missed you."
Before I knew it she placed her other hand on my cheek and leaned in, her lips felt so natural to me and I could feel her smile start to form and couldn't help but smile myself. I placed my hands on her waist pulling her closer, before I knew it all of the pain faded away and it was just the two of us.
The way it should be.
