After the incident which left one out of the three people shocked and in denial, Sam was having a hard time trying to decipher everything that happened. First his mother died on the ceiling, next his old girlfriend died the same way now his present love interest had been possessed by the yellow eyed demon. He had been zoned out while Shela brought out some peroxide and looked Dean in the eyes.
"Now Dean, you might want to hold onto something because this is going to hurt," Shela spoke as she sprayed Dean's wound.
"Ouch!" exclaimed Dean as his hand clenched into fists. "That hurts!"
"Calm down," said Shela. "Trust me, my mother and grandfather are healers," Drying the wound Shela took off her necklace. "You're lucky I brought that shield up before he did any real damage,"
''Wait , what are you doing?" he questioned as he watched Shela take off her necklace. "I thought that's what protected you?"
"It does, but it also helps to heal wounds," Shela held onto the end of her necklace where the pendant was and placed it on Dean's wound. Remembering what her mother said while she healed her, Shela began to speak in Tagalog as she moved the pendant down the wound. Dean watched in amazement as the wound on his chest healed as if there wasn't a single cut in the first place. After she finished, Shela cleaned off her necklace and placed it back around her neck.
"Okay," says Dean. "You amaze me each passing minute Shela," Shela blushed slightly as she turned away and went to put the peroxide back in the bathroom. Sam had remained completely silent the entire time as he wanted all of this to be a dream.
"You okay?" Shela asked as she walked back in and noticed his depressed state.
"Do I look okay?" Sam said angrily.
"Sam!" Dean yelled, a bit taken aback by his brother's behavior.
"Sorry," says Sam sighing sadly. "This just happens to me all the time, that's why I don't normally try to go out with anyone while on the job,"
"It's alright," says Shela. "I kind of figured,"
"What?" says a confused Sam, Shela let out a laugh briefly and looked at Sam.
"I'm an empath, silly, remember?" Shela Said. "That and I can kind of read you mind just by making eye contact, I've been reading some of your mind half the time we make eye contact Sammy,"
"Great," says Sam. "Is there anything you can't do?"
"Yeah, math," responds Shela. Dean let out a slight laugh as he didn't think she'd read his mind.
"Thankfully, she hasn't read mine," responds Dean.
"Don't be so sure about that sweetie," says Shela. "I knew you liked me the moment we made eye contact," Sam let out a laugh as Dean turned away with embarrassment, hearing Sam's laugh Shela turned around. "The same goes for you Samuel, I know how you feel about Kristina,"
"Stop reading my thoughts!" Sam yelled and even though he sounded angry the small conversation had broken the tension from before.
"Can't help it," Shela admitted with a smile.
"Okay so it's time to address the elephant in the room, how do we get golden eyed dick out of Kristina?" Dean asked as he felt that they needed to focus on the task at hand even though he was glad they had all made up.
"I might have an idea actually," Sam said and the other two looked at him in confusion.
"What's your plan?" Dean asked and Sam pulled out Kristina's golden locket from his pocket.
"If this necklace could repel Lucifer it can definitely repel Azazel." Meanwhile Azazel had managed to make it back to the Sales theatre where Lucifer was waiting on the stage, still in Sarah's body.
"It's done sir, I've managed to take control of the girl," Spoke Azazel.
"And yet you failed to get Shela's energy," spoke Lucifer as he crossed his arms.
"She's stronger than we expected sir," he responds. "I don't know how much more we can take before she has the ability to send us back where we came from,"
"Enough," answered Lucifer. "As long as we have her friend then we'll be fine,"
"What if the Winchesters figure out how to stop us?" Asked Azazel.
"Oh, I'm sure they'll try,'' says Lucifer. "But we'll be ready," Back at the apartment, Shela had been laying outside on the ground unable to go back to sleep. She stared up at the starry night sky looking at different constellations. She had been deep in thought when Dean stepped out to see her, placing his hands in his pocket he walked over to Shela and looked down at her.
"You okay?" asks Dean.
"Not really," Shela responds as Dean laid down next to her, he pulled his hands out from his pockets and laid on them.
"Is this normally what you do at night?" he questions.
"Usually, when I have a lot on my mind I try to look up at the sky and think about what other worlds there are," Shela mentioned.
"Don't worry," says Dean. "We'll save Kristina, then we can send yellow-eyes and L back to hell,"
"Gonna be kind of hard to do that if Sarah is just going to continuously summon them," She said.
"Well, we'll make sure that she doesn't do that again," answers Dean. "And we're going to save Kristina," Dean promised as he knew this situation was already stressing her out. She gave him a sad smile and rested her head on his shoulder for comfort.
"I know I just get so worried about her sometimes, I know she can take care of herself but that doesn't stop me from worrying about her." Shela explained and Dean understood it's how he felt about his little brother. He guessed it was just an older sibling thing.
"Has Sammy said anything else?" Shela asked as he had hardly spoken a word since their last conversation. Dean sighed and shook his head; Sam wasn't taking this whole possession thing well. He couldn't blame him as he would have been reacting the same way if the stakes had been reversed and Shela was possessed.
"Not really all he told me is that he needs some time to himself before we leave." Dean explained and while the two were talking Sam was sitting motionless on Kristina's bed staring at her necklace. As he sat there a flashback immediately played in his mind.
"Wait so you've never had a boyfriend before?" Sam asked her, hoping that she was joking.
"No," Kristina answered with a laugh, and for good measure she playfully pushed him.
"You have to be kidding because you're beautiful," Sam responded and for the second time that day she pushed him.
"Well, I'm not like most girls so I don't tend to attract most boys." She told him and the conversation suddenly turned serious when he answered.
"I'm not like most boys," and almost no words were said after that statement as she was looking at him like she never had before.
"I guess that's why I like you so much," Kristina said, breaking the silence and giving him a kiss. The flashback ended there, and Sam finally stood up as he was done drowning in his own self-pity.
"Sam?" Dean asked, noticing that his brother had moved.
"We've got work to do," Sam answered.
