Chapter 30

THIRD PERSON POV

Severus lowered his wand swallowing thickly as he watched his colleague and friend tumble over the astronomy tower railing in a green flash.

His memory took him back to the last time he was here watching the young lady he saw as his own daughter in a state of despair he wouldn't wish on his worst enemy.

Jolted from his thoughts by Bellatrix's cackle as she cast the dark mark in to the air in glee. He raced down the stairs as Bellatrix and the others wreaked havoc behind him opening doors and sending hexes to anyone in their path.

His blood ran cold when he realised they had just walked past the abandoned wing and he swung around when his worst fears were confirmed, the door had appeared because he was close. He watched as Bellatrix tried and failed to open the door.

"What's in here Severus?" She shrieked casting spells on the door "Nothing Bellatrix we don't have time for this come on" he seethed as she narrowed her eyes at him.

"What could possibly be so important behind this door that it's guarded so heavily" she smiled evilly.

Severus' heart hammered in his chest as he swung his cloak around and walked off "If you'd like to be caught Bellatrix so be it. Everyone else follow me hurry up" he hissed as they trailed behind him.

Bellatrix hovered determined that there was something of importance behind that door and she was going to uncover it. She cast every spell she could muster eventually bracing herself and casting Bombarda after Bombarda until it breached.

ELARA

I stood in sheer panic as the walls around us shook whoever it is was they were going to be through that door in a matter of minutes. Draco took duelling stance behind me and I looked back at him with a face of resignation, he widened his eyes at me "Don't" he hissed.

I shook my head "It's the only way Draco, please hide I'll say Dumbledore kept me locked in here please Draco I'm begging you. I'll come back for you I swear it" I begged him.

He shook his head "You can't leave me again Elara-" he was interrupted by explosions coming from outside the door.

"Please fucking hell Draco hide please I beg you if you love me you'll hide" I grabbed the collar of his sweatshirt and kissed him "I love you so much" I whispered giving him my wand and pushing him towards the spare bedroom where there was a hidden cupboard that we had discovered upon searching every inch of the wing.

"I love you" he cried leaving the door slightly ajar.

The hallway exploded and filled with dust and rubble, I stumbled forward trying to get out when I bumped into Bellatrix "Bella" I cried grabbing hold of her arm and trying to get out through the hole in the wall "Thank fucking merlin what's going on how did you find me?" I hugged her tightly.

She squinted her eyes and widened them when she realised it was me, I shook her shoulders "Bella how did you find me I've been fucking trapped in there by Dumbledore for months".

"Dumbledore is dead we just killed him" she pouted her lips menacingly at me. I shook my head laughing "So his charms failed when he died thank fuck, you shouldn't be here you'll get caught should we go? Where the fuck are we?" I whispered as commotion could be heard from afar.

I looked around realising we were in the dungeons I dragged her towards Severus' office "Come on we'll have to use Severus' floo I don't have a wand" I whispered.

My heart raced fast enough to make me dizzy I clutched at Bella's arm to steady myself as she locked the office door behind us. We entered the floo and she announced Malfoy Manor throwing down the powder and I frowned at her as we got sucked out.
