Chapter 31

DRACO

I flinched as I saw the hallway lights flicker to life, I pulled the kitchen door up slowly holding my wand in front of me.

I listened intently, I could swear I heard crying.

"Draco" I heard her voice like music to my ears "Elara?" I poked my head out of the kitchen door.

"Merlins fucking ball sack I thought you'd gone" She cried wrapping her arms around my neck.

I sighed into hers swallowing a lump in my throat, she came back. "I was going to wait until the morning to go to Mcgonnagal. What happened? who took you?" I asked her shakily.

"Bellatrix, they bought my story don't worry and the only person that can object is dead. We need to go I saw Blaise on my way here they're waiting for us" she rushed pulling me towards the door.

I pulled her back towards me pulling her wand from my back pocket and handing it to her, she smiled up at me and kissed my lips.

I poked my head out of the door and signalled her to follow me, we crept against the walls towards the Slytherin common room.

I heard her sigh in relief as we stumbled through the portrait hole and she beamed at me pulling me up the stairs.

God she is beautiful I'll never not melt when she smiles at me no matter the situation.

I heard gasps and cries when she pushed the door open and we came to face our friends. My eyes blurred with tears when Blaise pulled me in for a hug patting my back as Elara was swarmed by Pansy, Daphne and Asher.

"I'm so sorry" Elara cried to all of them as they all asked what's going on.

We all sat on the floor as close as possible as Elara and I sat down to explain the past six months.

"They still think Draco is dead he needs to stay here and hide. Tom is barely leaving Malfoy Manor and I refused to stay, I couldn't stay there with him sipping bloody tea with Cissy and Lucius when that should be me and Draco" she whispered and my heart swelled at the notion.

She isn't wrong that would kill me knowing she was there with my parents, with him taking my rightful place. I loved her all the more for feeling the same way and refusing to stay.

"How will Draco stay here though everyone will see him and word will get out that he's alive?" Pansy announced and Elara's expression dropped.

"I need to get to Mcgonnagal I don't know how much help she's going to be now though, Severus is the new headmaster and he said Death Eaters will be infiltrating aswell" she sighed as she stood so I followed suit "I'm coming with you then" I stated.

She shook her head "No it's too risky you can't be seen, if worse comes to worse you'll have to stay in Blaise's room with him until Severus takes over I don't think it's safe enough at my manor. I'll come back I promise" she gripped tightly to the front of my sweatshirt.

My jaw tensed in frustration at how utterly fucking useless I felt once again. I laced my hands in her hair "I love you" I whispered softly. She smiled up at me "I love you more".

I scoffed at the insinuation becoming aware there were four sets of eyes welling up at our declaration. I reluctantly let her go, sighing and sitting on the bed with my head in my hands.

I looked up at the others through my lashes smiling back at there elated faces. Pansy jumped on me excitedly "I cant believe you are both here" she beamed as the others laughed.
