the next day was a little odd. well, it definitely started that way. yeonjun arrived at school, and people were no longer staring. do people really forget about things so quickly?
yeonjun was walking by the empty classroom when hyuka pulled him in.
"again??"
"yes, again! hyung, why did wooyoung hurt you? didn't he used to have a crush on you? weren't you two best friends?"
"i rejected him, remember?" hueningkai nodded. "he's been hurting me-"
"what?! hyung~ you should have told me~" Huening started to tear up. "nono, hyuka! please don't cry i'm sorry!" yeonjun hugged him tightly.
beomgyu and taehyun walked in, taehyun on beomgyu's back. "Why are you always crying?" taehyun questioned.
huening kai gasped. "why are you on his back?! are you two dating?!" there was a momentary silence. "i asked first, you overgrown fetus." taehyun snapped.
hueningkai's lip wobbled. "d-don't call me names!"
"fine, i'm sorry, don't cry!" taehyun apologised quickly, worry evident on his face. yeonjun rubbed the maknae's back. "you didn't answer my question..." kai mumbled.
taehyun sighed. "i fell,"
beomgyu smirked. "he slipped and hurt his ankle, then he nearly cried." hueningkai gasped again and ran over to the two. "are you okay, taehyun-ah? do you need to go to the hospital? don't worry i'll still love you even if you cry!" the youngest assured, taking taehyun from beomgyu and hugging him tightly.
taehyun blushed and hesitantly hugged him back. "l-love is a strong word, hyuka..."
soobin entered the classroom discreetly and hugged yeonjun from behind. the elder let out an odd sound that resembled a squeak and blushed. "goodmorning, my love," soobin whispered in yeonjun's ear.
yeonjun smiled and leaned into the hug. "morning, baby,"
"did you sleep well?" soobin questioned. "mhm. you went to sleep like i told you, right? you can't study all night every night." yeonjun reminded. soobin nodded and kissed behind yeonjun's ear softly.
"alright, i'll sleep when you sleep."
"but our schedules are different. i wake up at 6pm and go to sleep at 7am on the weekends."
soobin frowned. "6pm? for what reason?"
"because I can use the dance studios unbothered...and i can avoid wooyoung..." he mumbled the last part, but soobin heard it. "he's the reason?"
yeonjun sighed. "don't get mad, it's my fault. i should have reported him."
"it's not your fault at all. i want to kill him even more." soobin grumbled. "aren't you supposed to be the rational brother, hm?" yeonjun teased, remembering their first encounter. soobin pouted and nuzzled into yeonjun's neck. "you smell nice,"
"really? i didn't even shower this morning since my mother needed extra help." yeonjun said. soobin shrugged and poked his tongue out, licking the elder. yeonjun squeaked, causing everyone to turn to them.
"oh, hyung..." beomgyu looked at them both with teasing look. both boys glared at him. "you too are sickenly cute." taehyun grumbled, hueningkai nodding in agreement. yeonjun smirked and turned. then he pulled soobin into a kiss.
all the others feigned disgust, but inside they were fanboying. "ew! get a room!" beomgyu yelled, throwing chalk at them. the maknaes joined in, booing at the two who continued kissing.
we, the stars, like to think that that was the beginning of that wondrous friendship group, and the start of more than one beautiful and unique relationship, and not just for those five boys.
